FRIDAY’S FAB FINDS™ | June 18 | bouquets, DIY ruffle shirts + cakes + plant centerpieces, ring shots, bridesmaid clutches + vote!

Happy Friday, everybody!  Ok, let me just get something out of the way real quick.  May I ask a hugetastic favor?  If you think I deserve it, please take a sec to let ‘em know over at the Wedding Channel that The Knotty Bride is one of your favorite Real Bride Blogs.  (The more votes, the better chance I have of winning!)  If you don’t mind, of course.  Pretty please?  You would make my year!  Thank you like crazy!  (If you do enter me and you feel like letting me know, go for it and, of course, I’m totally writing you back and thanking you to the high heavens.  My gratefulness knows no bounds.)

Love that, right?  Me too.  It’s one of the Finds, today.  (:

Ok, let’s get going!

First off, this kind of rules.  I think it’d be such a fun little project to do at your tame bachelorette party.  Personally, if it’s strip club vs. ruffle shirt projects, I think I’ll opt for the ruffle shirt every time.  … Well, nearly every time.  And by the way, without the t-shirt sleeve still on, I think I’d totally rock this in real life, like, gardening or picking up my niece from ballet, or to a town hall meeting.  You get it.  But it doesn’t mean I don’t love the hell out of it.  ‘Cause I do.  It’s kind of perfect, in that DIY ruffled Hanes t-shirt kind of way.  Let’s hear it for P.S. I Made This, eh?  People who randomly DIY it up totally rock.  Obvs.

Found on P.S. – I Made This

So, the story with this wedding (via Love and Lavender) is that the groom DIY’D THESE CENTERPIECES HIMSELF.  Soooo, I’m in love with him.

It is a succulent-fest and I am comfortable with that.

How much do you {heart} that?  Seriously, how much?

Well, if you liked that, then you might think this is terrific:

Those are terrariums, and I found them on design vagabond, one of my fave design blogs.

Quick note: wanna make your own?  Here’s a fab tutorial.

Ok, this has nothing to do with weddings at all, but I saw this, too, on dv, and had to share:

Ahh yes, the ol’ runaway letter.  I totally wrote a letter like that one time as a wee one.  Good times had by all.

Adore just about everything going on in this wedding featured on Style Me Pretty

Can you tell I’m obsessing over the clutch factor?  Obsessing.

S’mores!  An engagement ring!  Happiness encapsulated.

Never been much of a fan of doll houses playing a role in our adult lives, but I’m LOVING all over this situation:

Loving these DIY wedding cake creations by Martha Stewart Weddings, which I found via Recycled Bride:

Remember that faaaaaabulous ivory bouquet up top?  Well I am totally stalking the DIY wedding from whence it came, as featured on Style Me Pretty and planned by Allison of Engaged & Inspired!

Here’s the bride’s version:

By the way, if you love it like crazy, you can buy her gown – the actual Vineyard Collection gown she wore herself – right here.  Pretty cool how that works, eh?

Now for a serious one (because I think I’d kill myself if all I ever did was tell you guys about weddings – gotta change it up for both our sakes, ‘specially since there’s such amazing stuff out there to read and check out!); the entries in “Sorry, Mom” made me equal parts laugh and cry.  It’s moving throughout.  via the fabulous Erin Loechner’s Design For Mankind.  I met Erin for the first time at Blog Out Loud earlier this week; she is one of the smartest, cutest and most fashionable girls around, for serious (and she wore THE cutest Urban Outfitters jumper for miles – can’t find it to link to it online, sorry!  I’ll be sure to update if I find it later).

By the way Urban Outfitters, what the hell is this?  Why does it exist?  I’m asking, ’cause I don’t get it.  Also, this looks likes shoulder nipples.  I’m not looking to add an extra set to my shoulders, no thanks.

Ooh, I almost forgot… did you happen to see my Style Me Pretty guest post this week?  It’s insane in the membrane.  It’s, like, the most colorful, detail-filled inspiration shoot.  It’ll blow your mind a little bit.

Ok, that’s about it for the Friday Finds this week.  I have got to say I am looking forward to this weekend.  Tonight’s a lobsterfest a bit north of the city; we’re dressing up like a couple of uppercrust types and heading to affluent town for some fine country dining.  It shall be splendid, and I shall report back.  But aside from those shenanigans, I’ve got quite a bit of work to do – also known as a mountain of your amazing proposal stories (still accepting submissions!) to draft up for the upcoming series… and you know what?  I am beyond excited to tackle it.  Beyond.

It seriously thrills me to no end, reading your touching/exciting/suspenseful/unique/generally kickass stories.  I. CANNOT. WAIT. TO FEATURE THESE STORIES.  Scout’s honor.  I just can’t believe I didn’t think of this sooner!  It is so gonna be the greatest thing ever.  I know I mentioned this, but I just can’t believe some of you submitted videos of your proposals!  It’s such an added bonus, I can’t even tell you.  But omigod each and every one of the stories I’m going to feature is going to rock it OUT.  Ooohhhhh you all are gonna love the crap outta this series.  Ok, ENOUGH about the series, Alison.  But one more thing: if the stories were women, they would be foine.  Ok, done.

Here’s to you all having fabulous weekends, and meeting me back here, bright and early (or dark and late, whatevs) on Monday!

Any of you have interesting plans in the works for this weekend?  Oh, and what did you think of the finds?  Forgot to ask that. (:

xoxo!  -Alison

I am laughing out loud right now. I love everything! Even that runaway note! That has got to be the most adorable note ever written. My favorite thing is that bouquet – I read about it and it says some of the flowers were made of wood! Last thing: I NEED those clutches for my bridesmaids.
