↑ My girl Andrea of Gwyneth Paige made that. SO awesome! ↑
You know what’s super cool about a virtual bridal shower? That everyone can come, and you’re invited! We officially celebrated this virtual shindig yesterday, but I thought I’d ring in Friday by extending the party overnight and into the morning. Sort of the way we did when I was in college and we traveled to Sevilla and stayed up all night and, well, you probably get it. I miss those days. Except for the hostels.
Wow, I’m really remembering those hostels now. They were soooo baaaaaad. I was young, so I didn’t as much as I would now. But ick. Iiiiiiick!
Ok, moving right along…
Ever since the moment I started, I’ve had the pleasure of working with and getting to know oodles of quality people in this here wedding industry. It has been nothing but fun, laughs, (lots and lots of hard but fulfilling work) and bushels of creative energy a-flowin’. In fact, I can’t recall ever meeting even one person I haven’t liked. But that all changed when I met Abby. Kidding! (: I love the Abbster, as I affectionately call her even though no one else does and so I may stop soon because she’s probably just tolerating it. Abby’s quite the awesome gal, and her soon to be hubby – in a matter of days!!!!! AAAAAHHHH!!!!! – is one VERY lucky man. And there’s no doubt he knows it. She’s fly (supa dupa fly), she’s a barrel of positive energy, and she’s hella kind.
Ok, let me just mention here that social media is an ah-MAAAAAZING, unbelievable force. If it’s part of your life, then you know exactly what I mean. It has had a remarkable impact on the way I operate on a daily basis, and I could muse all day about its benefits. But I’m going to talk about just one today, and it’s this here virtual bridal shower.
I bet you’re wondering how this all came about, eh? Well, my good friend Naomi of Enchanted Dream Weddings had a brilliant idea. Why not throw our nearly wed friend Abby of Life in the SuperBurbs a bridal shower? It was a fantastic idea! Only problem? We all live in different spots THROUGHOUT THE WORLD. Dilemmaville. But actually not so much… Naomi, with her bad self, assembled the crew via Twitter and Gmail, and then proceeded to organize the most amazing gift for our dear friend, Abby. It involves a handmade quilt, our favorite quotes, and a whole lotta love.
Ok, wanna know which quotes I contributed? Well I’m gonna tell you anyway:
To love and be loved is to feel the sun from both sides. ~ David Viscott
- and -
Even after all this time
The sun never says to the earth,
“You owe Me.”
Look what happens with
A love like that,
It lights the Whole Sky. ~ Hafiz
And here are my patches, y’all!
Now it’s time to thank someone very special, very talented, and very generous. The amazing Andrea of Tapestri gathered up all of our quotes, shook them up in a jar with a few other materials and whole lot of incredible talent, and look what came out? This lovely, handcrafted bridal shower quilt. Woweewawa. Thank you SO MUCH, Andrea, for your excellent work! (Ladies, this is kind of a perfect gift for a brand new bride, wouldn’t you say? I think I’d sob uncontrollably if I received it. But I’m emo like that. Though you’re probably emo like that, too, so you feel me.)

Abby, we hope this weekend is filled with love and laughter. That you and Mr. C have the best time EVER. And that it doesn’t rain, and that only the amount of guests you want to attend actually do attend, and that the whole thing just ROCKS SO HARD. (; We love you so much, you have no idea.
