ROCKSTAR WEDDING DRESSES | … do you have the balls? | Also, my aaaaallergies.

Monique Lhuillier said something very, very special about her Spring 2011 RTW line a few days ago…

“We have the angelic side, and the naughty side.”

Naturally, the naughty side shall be featured here.  Where else?  (;

But first let’s talk about my face for a minute here before we get too deep into any wedding shenanigans.

This summer has been amazeballs for my face.  Kidding, it’s been agony.  It’s all nose-blowing, all the time.  Tissue-box central.  “Where are the tissues?  Oh, ALISON’s got them.  Right…” is the tag line.  I’m a frikin’ sneezing machine.  And they used to come in threes – that is, until they started coming in fives.  Oh, how I miss those threes!  It’s like one contiguous sneeze now, and God forbid I’m not within two yards of a tissue or a napkin or a sleeve or somebody’s hand (’cause it’s not gonna be mine).  Heaven.  Forbid.  That.

This morning, while discussing allergies (how fun!) and, at one point, how I’ve never had them until this summer, my girl Amy of ABCD Designs reminded me of one very unpleasant fact:

They say every 7 years you have all new cells-which means one can ‘grow’ into having allergies!

That’s EXCELLENT news.  So hopefully I have only seven more years of this.

Ok, moving right along to what you guys really wanna hear about.  Monique’s in the house, Lhuillier-style.

First, check out the makeup approach she chose for her ladies, according to Style:

“It’s a 1960s Audrey Hepburn look with an aerodynamic, beautiful eyeliner,” said Mac Cosmetics Lead Makeup Artist Val Garland. “Very haute couture and red carpet, slightly debutant with gilded lilacs on the eye lid, liner and a delicate, soft pink glossed lip.”

In other words, in your face hotness.

Now, check out my how-to-make-a-statement picks from her stellar Spring 2011 Ready-to-Wear line.  Keep in mind, these are rockstar picks, most of which are not just straightforward wedding dresses, with the white, flowy material and the beige sash and the this and the that.  Sometimes, we need a little kick, and today I’m bringing that kick to your faces.  You know you want it.  Not a kick in the face, but a change-up now and then. Eh?  Eh?  Am I right?  I’m right.

So, feel ‘em out… and then let me know if you think you’d ever consider wearing one of these babies down that oh-so-sacred aisle.

You know what else they say, For every seven sneezes your body goes through the same sensation that you go through during an orgasm. (Or something like that) So in all reality allergies could be really exciting if you just embrace the sneezes a little more.

The dresses are lovely, but you should totally try a neti pot for your nose :)

I love the idea …traditional is so boring sometimes. Though I’d still make sure it’s a classic style or else looking back at wedding photos would be much like looking back at 80′s/90′s prom photos. lol

Totally IN love with some of these! um, that pale blue ruffled and the metallics?! yes. please.
and i totally understand on the allergy/sneezing front. we suffer BAD. In the south the humidity does NOT help matters.
My sister dubbed me Sneazy, probably because she was tired of hearing it. NOT. good times.
