WEDDING TRENDS | Part III | Madonna… as wedding style inspiration?

Maybe you’ve seen it; maybe you’re even thinking about doing it yourself…

Whatever it is, it seems like more and more brides are embracing their inner Madonna these days.  And I’m not talking about being promiscuous.

While they’re stopping short of the lace gloves and cone bustiers (at least as of me writing this post), they’re going full throttle on the ornate layered pearl and statement neckwear.

I don’t know what I prefer: the gorgeous, ornate accessoried look above, or…

… The bare and beautiful look.

I dunno… but he seems to like it. ;)

Here’s a tip: if you go with bare, it’s a good idea to carry the style through to your bridesmaids’ looks as well.

Hotness.

Still, I’m undecided on which one I prefer.  I wonder what you guys think…?

Let me know your thoughts on this trend.  Are you planning on embracing the layered necklace trend?  Or is the bare look more your style.  Or are you going with something completely different?  Let me take this opportunity to remind you, following a trend is not a bad thing, the only thing that’s important is that you truly love it and will be happy on your Big Day.  :)

xoxo!  – Alison

P.S. – OMGTHENEWSITEISALMOSTREADY.  We’re *this close* to done with the whole thing and all the features, and I’m FREAKING OUT.  Now, that could have something to do with the fact that we’ve been eating, sleeping, breathing and breast feeding the thing approximately 22 hours a day, 7 days a week, but whatevs – that’s how you make a site that RULES.  Am I right?  I’m right.

P.P.S. – I know how excited you guys are, and I’m right there with you.  Thanks, once again, for all the amazing excitement you all have expressed about the project!!!  We seriously couldn’t do any of this without you.  I’m trying not to be emo today, but it brings a tear to mine eye.  Really does.  … ok, I just spent a few seconds looking for a way to make a smiley face with a tear, but there isn’t one readily available.  Any suggestions?

oOoo I like the layered necklaces… it adds to the look. It’s a bit 20s, don’t you think? I do, however, think not everyone /can/ pull it off, you know? It’s such a Charleston look that I personally LOVE LOVE LOVE. I’m a bit obsessed with the 20s flapper look and lifestyle. A la Great Gatsby.

I agree with Estefy, I LOVE the layered necklace look too. It’s just so elegant, and adds such style to the whole look. I know I want to wear a necklace, but I just haven’t come across any I know are PERFECT yet. But I love the layered look and feel pretty sure I’m doing it.

Layered does just look so deluxe, but it must be for the right bride! The bare look is also so natural and so timeless….we are SO excited, Alison!!

I love the bare look! My gown is reeeaalllly ornate, so any neckwear would be overkill. Though I do wish I could. :)

I am all about a necklace. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a statement piece, something subtle can work. I feel like no necklace makes it look like you forgot something.

Love the looks here – Bare and beautiful is so refreshing…Sometimes jewelry tends to take your eye off of the bride a little bit..ya know?

I love love love layered pearls, but unfortunately it won’t work with my wedding dress. I did use them for my e-session however.

I like both! That layered necklace is gorgeous but bare is beautiful too. And I can’t WAIT to see your new site! I’m sure it’s going to be amazing :)

I like both styles and I think we all know it also depends on the gown, the overall style/ theme of the wedding. I personally need to adorn myself with a necklace because I really don’t have a tall/ slender neck to show off to begin with!!!

You aren’t the typical weblog writer, gentleman. You certainly have some thing potent to increase the web. Your own layout is indeed robust that you could nearly pull off being a poor article writer, yet you’re even awesome from articulating what you must point out. Keep the great work guy!
