GUEST BLOGGER | Wedding Warm Up: Accessorize to Brave the Weather Beautifully, with Magalie of The Demoiselle

It’s a scientific fact that love produces physical heat, which certainly explains why some brides won’t notice the nippy autumn air on their big day.  Personally, I’d bet most brides brave the blustery winds of fall and winter for one reason and one reason alone: STYLE!

A magazine-worthy photo of you looking divalicious in your wedding dress is worth a sniffle or two, right?  My fashion-obsessed side is inclined to answer with a resounding “Yes!” but the (slightly) saner part of me isn’t so sure.  After all, this isn’t an episode of ANTM we’re talking about – it’s your wedding.  I propose a middle ground.  With a few carefully chosen, gorgeous accessories it’s possible to look fierce and fabulous without freezing.

Boleros like this dreamy piece from Maria Lucia Honan are just the thing for fall weddings.  If you’re planning a winter wedding consider upgrading to a sumptuous cream cashmere coat – it’s an investment you’ll be able to wear year after year.

If you can’t bear to cover the dress, focus on your extremities.  Whether they’re opera length or dainty and short, gloves are an elegant, vintage style statement!  My picks are La Crasia and for UK lovelies, Ines.

Lest your bridesmaids be left out in the cold, a simple scarf can add a pretty pop of color and warm them up.  I’m loving the Anthropologie’s Echoes scarf and Anne Taylor’s Pleated Edge scarf!  P.S. – They’ll make a thoughtful addition to the bridesmaid gift bags!

Love definitely keeps a girl warm and a few pretty accessories won’t hurt either.  What about you?  Are you willing to cover your dress to avoid the cold?

xoxo!  - Magalie, of The Demoiselle

I never really thought gloves looked all that classy, but they look so good in that third pic! I’m seriously considering this for my bridesmaids now!!!! But I’m letting my bmaids make a lot of their own choices, so we’ll see what they think ;)

I absolutely love the bolero – that is amazing and something you could easily work into other outfits after your wedding! I’d skip it for the walk down the aisle and use it for the reception.
