BRIDAL MARKET UPDATE | [Spectacular] Dresses, dresses and more dresses… oh, and one excellent pair of Tevas given to me by Romona Keveza.

Afternoon post of wedding dress teaser goodness!  All up in your face.

… A taste of Priscilla of Boston…

… I just emerged from Bridal Market land (well, not really; I’m still there, I’ve simply escaped for a hot second to blog today, as it wouldn’t be fair to keep all of this under wraps!)… and a single thought dominates my brain.  This thought is: where do I begin?

… a little Monique Lhuillier amuse-bouche…

You guys should see the floor of my workspace.  I have some pretty attractive wood floors that boast a warm, honey-color stain and a modest sheen, but you wouldn’t know it if you stepped inside.  Because each and every square inch is COVERED BY BRIDAL MARKET EPHEMERA.  A high res disc here, a PR packet there, a million little gifts, business cards and, perhaps the best gift of all… a pair of Tevas from Romona Keveza (images from her show will be coming soon…)

Why I deemed those Tevas the best gift has nothing to do with the fact that Tevas, while comfortable, are the antithesis of high fashion and everything to do with the fact that, though I didn’t understand it at first, a pair of flippity floppities were the answer to my prayers this weekend.

… modern chic hotness from Angel Sanchez…

You all know that a couple of my strongest traits are: a) my affection for everything wedding and b) my saver mentality.  You know what these characteristics amount to when set in motion?  Hitting every single show possible this weekend… and getting there ON FOOT.  In nice shoes.  On the unforgiving streets of New York City.  With a bazillion bags and gifts in tow.  So, even though I sooo didn’t want to… I did it… I had to… in between showings, I slipped off the pretties and threw on the Tevas.  Eek!  I know.  So thank you, Romona Keveza and the absolutely lovely Deanne Moser, for this bewildering-at-first-but-life-saving-in-the-end gift!  ;)

Wait.  I think we all need to see that Priscilla of Boston sweet, sweet goodness up top one more time…

Aaaaand a-this a-one

There was one trend that was incredibly apparent; can you guess what it is?  Take a moment to think about the things I love most about wedding dresses – it’s one of those.  I’ll give you a second to ponder, though I have a feeling you’ve already figured it out…

RUFFLES!

Truly, throughout the entire experience thus far, one of my favorite themes in quite a few of the collections I had the pleasure of viewing was ruffles.  Gorgeous, soft, elegant, dreamy ruffles.  Off all kinds, in all colors and in all materials.  I can’t wait to share them with you!

While I took a gazillion snapshots with my camera phone, they do not, IN THE LEAST, do justice to any of the frocks I saw this weekend.  So thanks to the Project Wedding blog for these gorgeous shots!

Don’t fret – this here post is just a tide-me-over.  I’ll be posting tons more loveliness as I upload it from these disks that are all over my floor, and as it comes in from designers throughout the week.  Oh, goody goody gumdrops!

Excited to see more?  ;)

Just wait ’til you see the dresses, jewelry, boleros, shoes and all the rest from Bridal Market here in NYC.  It will blow. your. collective. minds.  So excited to share!!!!

xoxo!  - Alison

P.S. – heading out to the Martha Stewart Bridal Market Celebration tonight, and I will totes blog all about it.  OBVS.
