A post professing my love for Romona Keveza‘s latest bridal lines should not surprise you. I’ve featured her gorgeous creations enough times in the past to make my affection and adulation for this powerhouse designer quite obvious. And – shocker! – she blew me away yet again, this past weekend.
What I love about Romona is that she doesn’t stray from what she does so well. She’s not interested in being avant-garde; her aesthetic is and has always been clean lines, form-hugging feminine silhouettes, the loveliest, richest and softest materials imaginable, and painstaking attention to detail. In fact, as I discussed with her gorgeous PR Director Deanne Moser, one of the dresses in her couture line took 200 HOURS TO CRAFT!
And, as is the case with many of the gowns, when you have your choice of Tiffany blue, pearl, ivory, blush and in some cases, black… the only problem is deciding which of those magnificent colors to choose! For those who love pink, but don’t want to go overboard on their wedding day, blush is the perfect option. If you love it here, you’ll DIE over its beauty in person.
I’m coveting that short lil number HEAVILY…
By the way, those ornate belts you see above and below? They were even more gorgeous in person.
Right when the show began, we were summoned into the delicate, highly feminine world of RK’s latest collection. Where there were ruffles, they were done WELL… and there were a LOT of ruffles done well. I should mention here that ruffles are tough; they add an extra layer of thickness to a silhouette, and only the most adept designers are capable of infusing them in a way that doesn’t add inches to a gal’s waist. I think it’s clear that Romona rocked it in the ruffle category this year, and in the most flattering way imaginable.
The inspiration behind RK’s Legends collection was the Jackie Kennedy of the 1960′s, while Couture’s was, of course, Audrey Hepburn’s portrayal of Holly Golightly in Breakfast at Tiffanys. If that doesn’t make you swoon, you’re incapable of swooning. You need a swoon implant. Seriously, make an appointment.
So, what are your thoughts? Would you like to wear a Romona Keveza on your wedding day?
xoxo! - Alison
P.S. – If you think these models are hot, you should have seen them in person. Suh-MOKIN’. And dressed head to toe in Romona Keveza’s Fall 2011 Bridal Collections, they looked like ruffled, beaded and silken dreamclouds fluttering across the sky, all floating towards me as I sat quietly, jaw down to here, eyes out to there (I’m motioning, you just can’t see it), completely swept up in the light and breezy loveliness of it all.
