As you might have expected this week, we’re kinda PRETTY HEAVILY INVOLVED in back-end stuff for the new site, especially today, so we’d like to offer you the most apologetic of apologies for bringing a new post to your faces so freaking late this morning. We had to make the anti-awesome decision not to post anything that might, without warning, spontaneously combust before your eyes (aka, disappear from the site due to the manipulations we’re doing on the back-end, if you wanna get nerdy about it). Speaking egomaniacally for a second: I do know that this blog contributes significantly to your life force and without it, all wedding planning ceases to progress. But we’re hoping that your unbridled excitement (still speaking egomaniacally) over the fact that back-end site testing is code for “we’re light years closer to the supercalafragilistic launch” might, just might, make everything alright.
No? Hmm. Ok, let’s try something else…
How ’bout… MY FAVORITEST DRESS IN THE WHOLE ENTIRE WORLD.
The adoration I have for this little frock is unparalleled. I don’t think a new puppy would arouse so much excitement. It’s perfect, in every way (save for the price – uggh). When I look at it, something happens inside of me, that I can only assume is a feeling tinged with sexual arousal. I don’t know how else to explain it; I’m literally turned on by this dress, and all of the potential it has for me and my lifestyle, once it hits my closet. It’s one of those perfect dresses that, until now, I believed only occurred within the confines of my bohemian dreams; one of those dresses that make you consider starting a fashion line, just so you can create it. Le sigh.
Let’s listen to Free People’s description, shall we? “Tiered ruffled dress with sheer upper bust and ruffled collar. Button-up keyhole opening in the back. Pleating throughout.“ Indeed.
If you’re wondering – and I know you well enough to know that you are – it’s called the Ruffles Fan Dress, and it’s by Free People. I have to thank my sister for this find; she has all her catalogs sent to my address, so, inevitably, I spend quite a bit of my time flipping through the awesomeness. I will never tire of print fashion catalogs. There are few better feelings than sitting in a ray of sun inside your house (because it’s friking cold outside) and leafing through a catalog. One of my top loves.

To wrap things up, here’s a nice little song to keep up your spirits today. If you needed that.
If you didn’t just rush off to snap up that dress… let me know something: do you love this baby as much as I do? Are you sick of ruffles altogether? Chime in below. :)
xoxo! – Alison
