DRESS UP YOUR WEDDING | Ed. 01: Black + Silver | Chic + unique bridesmaid looks within a chosen color scheme

If I know you guys at all, I know that you love dresses.  I know, duh.  But even more than that, I know that the vast majority of you LOVE those weddings where the bride has each of her bridesmaids wear a unique style of dress, with the only requirement being that it falls within the color scheme chosen by the bride.

… A lot like this sneak peek I recently shared with you, of a wedding we’ve got coming up soon:

Well…

I thought I should do my part to encourage this trend.  So, here we go with the first installment of this new series!

I decided to go with a slight variation on basic black for our first post in this series, because New Year’s is coming up, and because everyone loves a little black dress.  I’ve added in a few sequins, as well as a few silvery blue dresses, to complete the set.  Bridesmaids will thank you for choosing this color scheme, as everybody looks great in a nice black dress, and they can wear it for New Year’s Eve, and many, many more occasions in the future!

The first look, way up top, is from J.Crew and it’s called the sequin étoilé dress.  Isn’t it fab?

Here are the rest of my top picks for your bridal party within this color palette:

TFNC All Over Sequin Dress with Keyhole Back

Karen Millen Folded Jacquard Dress

ASOS Bow Front Bandeau Dress

TFNC One Shoulder Sequin Dress

You guys, she’s really tall.  So don’t fret, it won’t be that short on a member of your bridal party.  … As long as you make sure your friend the model doesn’t choose this dress.

Cotton-silk faille Leighton dress

Moiré silk Minette dress by J.Crew

*ACCESSORY TIME*

Looking to complete the look?  Add one of these feather clutches (which I featured in RUFFLED FEATHER CLUTCH | I FOUND IT!!! | … and I already bought one in every color) and your ‘maids will be in seventh heaven.

It can be your gift to them, too – at approx. $45 a pop, the cost is ideal, and the clutch is to die for!

Hope you enjoyed the first installment of our new series.  Many more to come in the future!

xoxo!  – Alison

How you manage to find so many adorable sequined dresses is beyond me. I really really need to get on ordering one (or more) of these. Love!

    Squeal.

I.love.sequins. It took three months, but I finally convinced all of my new co-workers that sequins are perfectly day-time/professionally appropriate! Thank you for continuing to enable my addiction! Also. Feather clutch? Put a fork in me, Im done.

Well. I knew you guys liked sequins… but whoa. You guys really love sequins, eh. Consider it noted in my official future blog post idea book (which is my head).

I love these little black dresses. Perhaps for a church or formal wedding, a coordinating long overskirt could be created to wear at the ceremony and then at the reception the overskirt could be removed.

Um, does your book of future blog post ideas aka head take requests? How about Alexander McQueen or Missoni-esque colorful printed dresses that somewhat coordinate? And um, yes this is for my May wedding :)
