REAL WEDDING | Kami + Dan in Napa, CA | This is how you throw a vineyard wedding.

Tell me, have you ever dreamed of getting married in Napa?  Better yet, are you planning to?  Well, today’s wedding will seal the deal on that little dream-nugget you’ve got floating around in that crazy planning brain of yours.

This wedding is absolutely *breathtaking* and, no, I am not being hyperbolic.  First of all, Matt Allen of M David Media is brilliant… he simply has “it.”  What’s it?  It’s essentially called “the eye.”  You pretty much have it, or you don’t.  Matt’s got it like crazy and he rocks it out every time.  Second, Kami and Dan = maximum awesomeness.  Along with their vendors, they brought to life everything they envisioned for their big day, and took the time to make sure that their guests enjoyed the experience just as much as they did.  Gotta love that.  You’ll find out later why I love this couple, but here’s a tidbit to start you off: “since we had a smaller wedding and everyone had to travel so far to attend, we wanted all of our guests to feel welcome and included.  Dan and I wrote a thank you for each guest and hung pictures on ribbons from our favorite times with each person.  We also included songs in our song list that reminded us of many of our friends and family.”

Ok, all together now…. AWWWWWWWW!!!!!

Oh, Matt also puts together pretty ridiculously rad dance collages – one of my favorite things to see in a wedding.  Also, there’s a naked guy.  So don’t say I didn’t warn you.  Enjoy, and Happy Almost New Year!

I heart dance montages in weddings.  Don’t see them all the time, but they just rule so hard.  They also always remind me of the montage song from Team America which was hi-larious imo… anyone remember that song?  “We’re gonna need a montaaaaage!!“  Anyone?  Anyone?  Bueller?

Uh oh, naked guy!  Doin’ something crrrazay!

↓ Whoa whoa whoa – another dance montage! ↓

… This time, complete with human letter-forming activity!  I believe they’re trying to spell out O H A O.  Which of course translates to I have NFI what it translates to.  But it’s super cute, and I love the effort.  So freaking cute.

Update – Thanks to Jennifer’s comment, I’ve learned that they’re actually spelling out O H I O.  So, there you go!  Thanks, Jennifer, you rule the school and all its inhabitants.

Here are some thoughts about this gorgeous day from the bride, Kami:

Our wedding day was exactly as I had always dreamed it would be.  And more.  Everything from the location, to the flowers, to the guests.  Everything was “just so.”  Harvest Inn is a beautiful, quaint inn located in St. Helena, CA.  When we were looking for our wedding venue, we had seen about five other places in the previous two days.  After a 20 minute tour, as Dan and I were walking back to the car, we looked at each other and just knew it was “the place.”  The ambiance, the view, the colors…. Everything was perfect.  And thanks to my wedding planner, Aimee Wendell of 2Chic Events & Design, the decor for our wedding enhanced all of the natural beauty that surrounded us.  From the rich textures of the table cloths and runners to the creamy, gorgeous flowers in the bouquets to the cute, silver tins holding the flip flops for the girls to wear after they “kicked off their heels,” every detail was beautiful.  Additionally, since we had a smaller wedding (around 90 people) and everyone had to travel so far to attend, we wanted all of our guests to feel welcome and included.  Dan and I wrote a thank you for each guest and hung pictures on ribbons from our favorite times with each person.  We also included songs in our song list that reminded us of many of our friends and family.  Naturally, since so much time and love and care went into the planning of our wedding, I wanted to document every single aspect of the day.  Lucky for me, I was able to have Matt Allen from M David Media (a long-time, amazing friend of mine) as our wedding photographer.  Because he knows me so well, he did a PERFECT job of capturing every moment and detail.  All in all, it was truly an incredible day, and I wouldn’t have changed a thing. I feel so blessed to have the friends, family, and husband that I do, and I feel that our wedding day was truly celebration of our marriage and our relationships with all of the important people in our lives.  In my (obviously unbiased) opinion, it was perfection. :)

Congratulations, Kami and Dan!  We wish you all the happiness in the world!

xoxo!  – Alison

A vinyard wedding is great! Don’t forget other natural settings that you don’t have to pay an arm and a leg for – a state or city park, the beach, or botanical garden!

How romantic. I love vineyard weddings. Also love, love, love the shoe shot with the grapes. It’s almost as though she had her shoes custom dyed to match the grapes.

Christi, those are fiddle ferns ~ also known as monkey tails. A florist or floral supply would be the place to go for them.
