FASHION IMPOSSIBLE | I FOUND IT! | The cutest white reception dress you ever did see. Also, parking lot weddings?

So, it’s Friday.  Which is awesome.  I love Fridays for all the usual suspect reasons; they still evoke in me a gleeful “no school for DAAAYS” internal response, physiologically speaking.  (I feel a digression coming on…) Which reminds me, I don’t know if you’ve heard, but a recent study done at some college somewhere provided a smidgen of evidence (enough to make the news) that we, as humans, might actually be able to see the future… somewhat.  That’s pretty cool, eh?  It’s kinda mind-blowing.  Speaking of blowing, here’s the beauty part – it’s kinda complicated but the guy who conducted the study found that, when trying to guess where an image was going to appear, between two possible curtains on a computer screen, his human subjects were slightly more likely to guess correctly when porn was behind one of the curtains.  So, apparently, we have the ability to see the future, when it means we might get to see titty.  Go, evolution!

Moving on.

So, our little LuLu*s giveaway got off to an amazing start yesterday, and we’re so excited to see who actually wins next week!  Love giving away things that aren’t mine.  No risk, total reward!  Gots to love it.  And we’ve got some SERIOUSLY. GORGEOUS. weddings and shoots to share with you as early as next week.  Of course.  PLUS, the coolest and cutest Valentine’s Day themed DIY PROJECTS and FREE PRINTABLES!  We swooned hardcore when these were submitted to us.  Hint: they involve hearts, and straws, and V-Day cards, and even a V-Day giveaway.  And OMGITISSOPRETTY.  But anyway, today, I felt like giving you guys another installment of what’s fast-becoming a favorite series for you guys and for me!  Love how that works out.

It’s that little ol’ thing I like to call FASHION IMPOSSIBLE!  This is what I’ll be calling it from now on.  I like titles.  Almost as much as I like turtles. ;)

Today’s fashion find is from a gorgeous wedding that premiered on Style Me Pretty, and then made its way over to probably more than a few other blogs out there, who regurgitated its absolutely astonishing pretty pretty prettiness.  That tends to happen when Jose Villa releases a brand new stunner.  But, since it’s all about freshness here on TKB, I’m, of course, not regurgitating it.  If you want to see the loveliness that is that wedding, please do visit the feature on Style Me Pretty and soak it all up.  My girl Erin did a fab job of arranging it, and you’ve gotta take a look at all her hard work!

So, the focus of this here post is THAT SHORT WHITE DRESS.  It sent shivers up my spine the moment I saw it, and I knew immediately that it’d be the next fashion impossible find on TKB.  And guess what?  I found it.  High kick!

It’s the Floral-Applique Taffeta Dress, and it’s by BCBGMAXAZRIA.  And guess what else?

♥ It’s available for purchase here. ♥

Here are some more shots by Jose Villa, because you just have to see how ADORBS this thing is.

Important note: The bride either had the dress altered or is wearing an earlier version, so the back is slightly different, and the floral scoopneck has some teeny tiny nuances.  Easy stuff for a talented tailor.

Le sigh.

In completely unrelated news, did you hear about what’s going on in Miami Beach?  Parking lot weddings, THAT’S what.

Yeah.  I know what you’re thinking…

… “That’s… that’s not as bad as I thought it was gonna be.  In fact it looks quite decent, if a rooftop-esque wedding is what you’re after.”

But just in case I’m wrong… what are you thinking?  Do you dig the concept of a cement parking structure as an event space?

… FYI – It can get a little windy up there.

xoxo!  – Alison

    That dress is too cute!

  2. Claire on January 28, 2011

Honestly? I am digging that parking lot wedding. That’s so cool! Probably b/c it doesn’t look like a parking lot and that view is SICK! In other news, LOVING that ruffly little reception dress! Esp. paired with those sexy red pumps!

  3. Jodi on January 28, 2011

I agree with Claire! That parking lot reception had spectacular views! The purple lighting took away from some of the cold cement feeling too. I don’t know if it’s for me. I’m more of a whimsy girl, but for the right couple, I think it could be really nice! It definitely would not work in a ground-level parking lot tho!

That dress is really adorable! I’m lovin those red strappy heels with it too!

I found your blog yesterday by entering the Lulus giveaway and I’m so glad I found you! I’m really enjoying the posts :)

I love that little short dress! The ruffles are so fun. And Jose Villa’s photography is equally beautiful of course. Every single one of his images wows me…Jose’s kind of a big deal :)

  5. Jennifer on January 28, 2011

    Totally loving it!

  6. jacin {lovely little details} on January 28, 2011

love the dress, it slightly reminds me of the lovely ms. abby c. from style me pretty’s dress for her reception.

  7. Emma | Emmaline Bride on January 28, 2011

Those red heels? Hot. And I love how she did her hair – soft, elegant, and she is so gorgeous she didn’t even need to add anything else! Stunning images, Alison!

isaiah wanted the parking lot wedding long ago when we first started planning until we went up into the parking garage we wanted it in and it was really windy, echo-y and it started to rain, yikes.

however, if you find the perfect rooftop of a garage that you love, i say go for it…the parking garages in chicago are not glamorous in the least.

  9. Andrea Harper on January 28, 2011

Ahh! I have totally park in that very garage! amazing!

  10. Amber W. on January 29, 2011

I am loving that dress. Seriously considering buying one now for the rehearsal dinner or perhaps the honeymoon. It is too cute to pass up!

  11. Vanessa Elizabeth @ Ruffled Rose on January 31, 2011

That is a gorgeous little number. It reminds me of a Chanel dress from a couple of years ago. It had a giant, beautiful flower on the bust.

  12. Stephanie Anderson on January 31, 2011

This is a really great idea…especially for the bride with an urban vision!
Just discovered your blog and love it!

  13. brynn on January 31, 2011

I actually like that parking lot idea- if it looks as good as this one! It’s a cool way to have an outdoors wedding and the weather won’t matter!

  14. stella on February 8, 2011
