I honestly can’t decide which project gets me more giddy; the hearts-on-a-stick cupcake toppers from earlier today, or the DIY coming up in this post. Truly, on an adorableness scale of 1 to 10, these diy projects = MAXIMUM ADORABLENESS. In fact, I believe this one goes all the way to eleven. ;) Enjoy!
♥ Heart Straws ♥
Once again, take it away, Andrea!
These adorable straws are perfect for your Valentine’s day table setting and can even be used as props for engagements shoots or other photo sessions.
Materials:
1. Paper Straws (these are from http://www.kikkerland.com)
2. felt fabric
3. cotton thread
4. Embroidery needle
5. Scissors
6.Hot Glue-gun
7. Glue-gun sticks
Step One: Cut out 4 heart shapes of the same size out of the felt fabric.
Step Two: Using your glue-gun and glue sticks, glue down the center of one of the hearts.
Step Three: place the straw on top of the glue leaving about 1.5” at the top of the straw. glue the top of the straw as shown.
Step Four: Take a second felt heart and place it on top of the glued area, sandwiching the straw in between the two layers of felt.
Step Five: Once the glue has dried, stitch around the edge of the hearts so as to sew the two layers together.
Step Six: Repeat steps two through five for the second straw and enjoy!

OH I am adoring this project! I just wanted to share that I found a slightly better price – $6.50 for 144 straws – at http://www.graygoose.com/collections/all/products/paper-straws. Am gathering up my felt as I speak (I mean, type!). Thanks for this feature!
