{#1} HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY! | A Vintage Valentine’s Inspired Engagement Session by Jacqueline Photography

Happy Valentine’s Day, lovelies!  I hope all of you are enjoying your morning on this extra special little Monday, and that you’ve got some special plans with somebody you love, no matter who it is.  I woke up to the *sweetest* note from my sweetheart this morning, and it started me off right – which was super helpful, because the street noise we’re adjusting to – still, after just under a week – is making a heck of an effort to start me off WRONG.  I think the garbage trucks of NYC celebrate Valentine’s Day with our cross street, because they’ve been making love to it alllll night, every night.  Sigh.

Anyways… I’m giddy with excitement this morning because I’ve got two super sweet, super inspirational shoots for your eyes this lover’s day, and they couldn’t be better suited for you guys.  Not to mention, the next one is packed with printable goodies for you to use tonight!  Yeah, I know – AWESOME.  But this first shoot, submitted by Jackie of Jacqueline Photography, has simply captured my heart, and I’m aching for you to see it.  Right when I saw it, I just knew it would be the perfect way to kick off this super romantic day.

Here are some words about this lovely shoot from Jackie and 2Chic Events & Design:

Lindsay and Daniel are engaged to be married this coming July and are one hot couple!  So, when Jacqueline Photography and I approached them with the concept of a Valentines inspired, chic styled engagement shoot, they jumped at the opportunity.

I was pretty much given free reign with the styling of this shoot and although I really wanted to incorporate a few elements that were indicative of Valentines Day, I really wanted to focus more on a color scheme that was not in line with the traditional Valentines Day palette.  I found myself drawn towards the stark contrast of black and white with soft accents of blushes and pinks to accent the  lush lakefront, chic, romantic setting that I had in mind.  The Coloma Country Inn was the perfect venue to pull it all together.

With several vignettes to work with, a stunningly gorgeous couple and a beautiful backdrop from every angle on the property, we certainly had a lot to work with.  We were on site to capture the essence and romance of this beautiful afternoon shoot.  Lindsay and Daniel’s love really shows through in the photos.  Lindsay was so excited about the shoot, she said it was the “Best day of her life”.  I’m sure that will only hold until their wedding day but it’s music to my ears!

Thanks to Jacqueline Photography, 2Chic Events & Design and everyone else involved in this super romantic e-session!  We love it like crazy!

xoxo!  – Alison

P.S. – Stay tuned, friendlies, for more of the magic.  Just you wait.

P.P.S. – And now, for fun, here’s a quick tip for a *successful* Valentine’s Day, in case you need a little help: Did you know that the smell of almonds is supposed to evoke passion in women, and the smell of steak is supposed to evoke passion in men?  Food for thought.  If it doesn’t work, go complain to Giada De Laurentiis.}

P.P.P.S. – Almonds don’t turn me on, honey.  I think I’m the exception to the rule.  Just so you know.

Love all of this...

    This was so much fun! I loved playing up Lindsay’s bright blue eyes with very subtle liner and the addition of the most natural individual lashes. And I loved using that soft peach blush with her fair complexion! She is a doll, and she and her fiance were a blast. Thanks Aimee and Jacqueline for putting together such and amazing concept@! Gorgeous work.
