MAD MEN E-SESH LOVE | Carlos + Angel | A pastry chef, her sweetheart and their super cute retro picnic | by Fresh In Love Photography

Ok, we’ve got a seriously tasty treat for you guys today.  So, uhh, I hope you like doilies, cookies, pink, Mad Men, bunting, pink, cute white cakes, pink and people in love.  And a touch more pink.  Yeah?  NICE.

I gotta tell you, I was sooo excited when Melissa of Fresh in Love Photography submitted this shoot, because if there’s one thing I really, really love, it’s photos that I wanna eat up and carry inside my belly for safe keeping.  And I wanna eat up pretty much all of these images.  I mean, c’mon.  LOOK at them.  They just look so delicious, don’t they?  I’m tempted to lick my screen but I know it’ll just taste like dust and the fingertips of every single member of my family who’s ever been in contact with it because yeah, I know you all touch the screen when you visit, even though I tell you not to.  And that sucks.  I still love you but that sucks.  So here’s a little passive aggressive action for ya. :)

Anywho!  Enjoy the pretty, friendlies!

Here’s the lowdown on this fantastic shoot and all the details from Melissa, who not only shot, but also styled this preciousness:

Carlos and Angel are two of the cutest, most in love people I have ever photographed. They make photographing them so easy and fun. The cute cake was actually made by Angel. She is an incredible pastry chef and wedding cake maker. If you are looking for beautiful, super delicious and budget friendly cakes for your wedding then she’s your gal!

I would also like to give credit to two other vendors that helped me a lot with the props in this photoshoot I styled. Firstly huge thanks to Tamy Ottomeyershop. for all the gorgeous lacy paper doilies that I turned into flags and placed all over the place to make it look vintage fancy. She has a lot of different stuff for DIY wedding decor so please check out her

Also if you love the ‘ You Are My Sunshine’ heart with hessian bag as much as I am….that is from this amazing store called Inklore. Sam makes lots of amazing handmade things so please do check out her store too….she can even personalize those cute little hessian bags so you could use them as wedding favors.

What do you think?  Personally, I looove it when couples decide to go all out with their shoots.  It’s like playing dress up when you’re 5-yrs-old, except you get to pick out every little detail yourself instead of pulling mommy’s arm for that tutu and hoping her mood is right.

That sounded dismal.  Honestly, I don’t know how all of that goes.  I played catch with my Dad when I was five.  But my niece LIVES for dress up, so I have a slightly informed perspective.

Would you want to go full out for your shoot?  Or do you keep it simple?  Oh, and how cute are these two????!!!!!

xoxo!  – Alison

Note: As you may have heard, we lost Elizabeth Taylor today.  A style icon, activist and one of the last major stars.  May she and her violet eyes rest in peace.

The lighting in those first few photos is positively dreamy! I admire the styled e-sessions (especially this one!) but we kept it simple, just because that’s more our style.

I’m totally smitten-what a sweet shot! I’m still unsure if super-styled shots or striped down photos win my vote, but they’d better be one or the other-no half assing it as far as I’m concerned!

There is not one thing in this shoot that I don’t love. The fedora, the use of doillies, all the garlands, the adorable cake banner, her dress (!), the soft colors and lighting and of course the adorable couple – so stinking adorable. I love me a Mad Men inspired shoot…always.
