WEST COAST WEDDING LOVE | Darci + Blake | Ahhh, beach, balloons, sailboats, dusty miller and a dream dress… where am I… I’m not… I’m not in wedding heaven, am I?

So, I don’t know if you’ve heard, but there were a couple of pieces of pretty redonkulous news this week…

First, in NYC, building owners will now be required to treat every apartment surrounding any apartment where bed bugs are found.  So, obviously, this is a good day for nyc.  Aren’t we lucky that we get to deal with these super unique problems?

Next up: apparently, Brad and Emily are going to… (cough…) work… (throwing up a little in my mouth…) out.  I hear Emily is moving to Austin, TX, and I assume that means she’s taking her lovely little tot with her.  Uprooting her baby girl, to live nearby to a man with whom it’s kind of completely not working out, a man who gets mad at you with the quickness when you ask him questions like, “are you sure you’re ready to be with me?”  So, go, volatile, power-based relationships witcha bad selves!  Emily, I wish the best for you and your baby.  I really. hope. it works out.  It does piss me off though that Brad won’t consider moving to you.  But it’s none of my business, right?  Right.  Oy.

And finally, some woman in SF has been injecting her 8-yr-old daughter with botox, and waxing her body hair.  … And I quote, “What I am doing for Britney now will help her become a star… I know one day she will be a model, actress or singer, and having these treatments now will ensure she stays looking younger and baby-faced for longer.”

That may sound crazy to you, that she said that, but remember, she injects her 8-yr-old daughter with botox, and waxes hair from her daughter’s body.  … not so crazy sounding come from her now, is it.

Sooo… keep up the good work, society!  You’re doing great.

Ok, now for the main event: this RIDIC wedding.  I sort of have no words for this one, lovies.  (I said *sort of.*)  First of all, she wore an Amy Michelson lace dress.  And I think y’all know how I feel about Amy Michelson… and if you don’t, I’m sure it’ll show up in the related posts.  Second, when John Partridge first submitted this affair, I saw those two shots above, and I kind of knew we had a winner.  But then I saw THE REST.

Here’s the rundown from our gorgeous bride:

From the beginning to end, my wedding day was absolutely incredible.  I was and am still in love with my husband and my Amy Michelson lace wedding dress.  If I could just find a way to re-wear it somewhere…. ;)  I thought it paired perfectly with the black suits worn by the groomsmen and the yellow chiffon floor length dresses worn by the bridesmaids.  We decided to go with a slightly more formal beachy look, which was perfect for Coronado, California.  The bridal party held 3 foot round balloons in some of the bridal party pictures.  They were such a nice touch…colorful, fun and classy.  The flowers consisted of yellows, greens and whites and were gorgeous.  They were done by The Vine’s Leaf out of San Clemente, and were absolutely perfect.  We decided to mix the tables with flower centerpieces on half and large pieces of coral in sand on the other half of the tables, which I LOVED.    The catering was also exactly what we wanted!!  We did cook to order pasta done by AnythingButOrdinary Catering.  Every dish was delicious and it was so nice for everyone to have a variety of different pastas to choose from on the spot.

To tie everything all together, thankfully I had our wedding coordinator,  Stacey.   She was my life for the 18 months leading up to the wedding.  She was the best help I could have ever asked for and was always there whenever I needed anything.  She made the day of the wedding so stress free, which is the best thing you could ever ask for.

But, the thing I am most thankful for is our photographer, John Partridge. I have always been very particular about pictures of myself, and was hoping they would turn out, but they are stunning.  I love so many I don’t even know where to begin, or which ones to show off or put up in our home.  I think I have a wedding picture in every room of our house.

If I had to give any tips- Enjoy every moment of the planning, because it is ALL worth it.  It can get stressful at times, but when it does just remember that you only GET TO do it once, so just take it all in, and when the day arrives try to remember every moment of it, because it goes by faster than you could ever imagine, and it is the BEST DAY in the entire world.

↙ Umm, THIS

That’s seriously what I call a wedding.  … What think you?

xoxo!  - Alison

I love the puffs of grass (grass?) in the bouquet. I haven’t seen that before, only on tables. I love the look of it.
And that’s such a great gown for her. Not right for every body type, but on her it’s fab.

Kate – Darci’s dress is one of my absolute favorites. It photographs so well, and I agree, it fits her perfectly. And she tied it in such a unique way!

There are three wedding details I love most in the world: yellow, daisies and balloons. This one has all three! Such a sweet wedding!

Those centerpieces are one of the best parts – they tie in with the beachy theme so seamlessly! (They’re literally from the beach.) I love a bride committed to her theme :D The day looks like it was a lot of fun too.

I know I shouldn’t leave any more comments, but I can’t help myself. You have to know that I googled (and this is a direct quote) “SF daughter botox crazy” because I had NOT heard that little piece of heaven yet and needed to know more. By far the most terrifying sound byte is that she’s hoping those monthly bikini waxes will stop her from ever having pubic hair, because that’s a sure sign that mother and daughter are well-adjusted!

Also, the author of the piece suggested this may be fiction, as evidenced by the original reporter’s other works like, “I cook with my breast milk.” That, however, is something one of my FB friends openly chats about, and hardly gets a blink in SF mommy circles.

But after I stopped having an anxiety attack about “kids today” and prepubescent boob jobs, you soothed me with this gorgeous wedding. The perfect shades of yellow, those amazing seashell centerpieces and of course that gown-this is what we all need after a little too much Googling.

omg. Lena. I die. You weave together the topics of your comments like Seinfeld episodes. This is a post in itself!

P.S. – I did not know that some mothers cook with their breast milk. Thank you, for that.
