Happy Monday, guys! OMG SO MUCH HAPPENED THIS WEEKEND. It depends on how you measure it, but more has happened to/for us this past weekend than, potentially, ever, in our lives together. Wowzas. That’s some big talk, eh? Yeah. And I have a feeling you guys might have a clue as to the news, so I’m accepting guesses in the comments. (If you actually guess it, I’ll be pretty shocked. I don’t think I’ve really hinted all that much to it, since it was sort of an unexpected event for us, too… ok I’m gonna stop because the more I talk, the more I tend to give away…)
Now, even though we’ve been in the mindset for such an event for quite some time, I think, kinda randomly, that show I mentioned on Friday was the impetus…
I’m about to reveal Secret #1… Secret #2 + the winner of our Mermaids Dream Clutch Giveaway comes a bit later on! So stay tuned…
Of course, if you haven’t already guessed, the show I said I’d tell you about is none other than Oxygen’s new wedding planning reality show, “Tori & Dean: sTORIbook Weddings.” HOLD YOUR HORSES. I know, I know – it’s a reality show. About weddings. Usually not a good sign, I’m with you. But give me a second to explain how I could possibly *like* another incarnation of televised wedding planning gone wild.
First let me just tell you that it premieres this Wednesday and I’m not going to advise you on how you should spend your Wednesday night, but I’ll just say that I quite liked it, and, as I mentioned here, I cried a bazillion times. Of course, I was sort of *in the mode* to cry at and over things that might not normally bring me to tears, ifyouknowwhatImean. (Ladeez, you’re probably the only ones who know what I mean. But now guys, you probably know what I mean, since I just told the ladeeez that they’re the only ones who will probably know what I mean. If you know what I mean. And if you don’t by now, I think we need to have a parent-teacher conference about your progress in this class.) Anyway, I can honestly say that, after I got over the unbelievably shocking ‘tudes of the couple featured in the advance copy of the series I was given, I got kinda emotionally involved and that’s where it all took off for me. Here’s the thing: I heart Tori Spelling. She’s got a really genuine nature to her, and she’s knee-slapping funny. Even comments that emerge from frustration are hi-larious. She rocks, and should be a stand-up comedian. And Dean’s hysterical, too, in a cool “I’m super-manly but I’m not afraid to be adorable, on a moment’s notice” kind of way. They, together = MAXIMUM ADORBS. And I believe I will be watching this series. WHICH, as you well know, is not something I can say for ANY of the other wedding-related-bullcrap on TV right now. Tori just has a real knack for planning parties, and I love how excited she gets about every idea. Plus, the rest of the cast is smart, and great, and I just love the damn thing, alright? Alright? I’m sorry, I do. I’m sorry.
By the by, there’s a note within the package I got from Oxygen that says I can arrange an interview with Tori and Dean. Unfortunately, I’m slightly star-struck, and I’m not in the mood to uncover a dormant case of Interview Tourette’s once on the phone with them. You might have to do without, m’friends. (Unless you guilt me; I’m terrible with guilt trips, and often submit to anything.)
Anyway, THIS WEDDING. Kelly Dillon made the rest of this post possible, with her INSANE ABILITY TO MAKE DELICIOUS PICTURES, so when she submitted this fabulousness, I pretty much died. In a good way. I heart Kelly like crazy, too, and you’ll understand when you see what follows. It’s like a bright, colorful wonderland of happiness, and I want to go to there. Kristine and Josh, thank you so much for sharing your wedding with us! We’re absolutely eating it up!
Here are some words from Kristine, our gorgeous bride:
Having a great photographer at my wedding was really important to me, but it was especially meaningful that my fantastic photographer was actually my friend as well. It was particularitly meaningful that a college and friend of mine did my hair. Lastly, it was also meaningful that all of our family and friends were in attendance. That seems obvious, but not everyone is so lucky.
Try to keep your wedding simple and do as much as you can yourself. It saves a lot of money and puts a personal touch on your wedding! Pick a color scheme that makes you happy and flows with the look or your wedding day, the season and your venue. Make it classic. You don’t want to look back 30 years from now and say, “what was I thinking??”
So, before I reveal Secret #2 (the effing huge secret of what happened this weekend) and the winner of our clutch giveaway, tell me, do you have any guesses of what possibly could have happened this weekend? Some of you may, if you follow me on Twitter and saw my totally random-seeming question from yesterday.
Also, how gorgeous are these images? That last one might be one of my favorite ring shots EVAH. (I sort of love purple.)
xoxo! - Alison
