{#2} CONGRATS TO OUR WINNER! Plus, here’s the big secret I’ve been cruelly torturing you with. P.S. – We cannot. decide. what to name him… sooo… lil help?

Sorry for the slight delay in announcing the winner, you guys.  It’s sorta hard to count comments when you’ve…

… do you love him? :)  ’Cause we’re freaking out over this little guy.

By the way, yeah, lots of you guessed it.  Am I that obvious?

He’s a French Bulldog.  Was it the Twitter request for French boy names?  Which I even referenced in today’s earlier post, therefore making it almost too easy?  I sabotaged myself.  I see that now.

I hope you WUV HIM!

We haven’t solidly picked a name yet.  So we’re still accepting suggestions.  Note: it doesn’t have to be French.  Anything goes.  We’re sort of stuck on one, but open, because we want him to have, like, the best name ever.

Thanks, loves!  You guys are like, stupid smart.  <– That’s what the kids are saying these days when they’re trying to say really, really smart, right?  Or did I just inadvertently insult the shit out of you.

Apologies in advance, if I did.

xoxo!  - Alison

Oh, right, the winner. :)  Congrats, Holly Oxford!  Looks like you’ve got yourself the veritable pick of the litter!  We kinda have that in common, don’t we… ;)

Holly Oxford on March 25, 2011 ~ I also tweeted this :)

But her other comment was awesomer, and more substantial, so let’s use that one instead, shall we?

Holly Oxford on March 25, 2011 ~ Would LOVVVVVEEEEE to have the Elegant Silk Dupioni Bow Clutch In Turkish Taupe!! So pretty and both my wedding dress and bridesmaid dresses have bows! :)

xoxo again!  - Alison

    oh he’s just…obNOXiously cute.

  4. Brenda's Wedding Blog on April 4, 2011

what a little cutie, congrats. My 4yo daughter decided the other day that her stuffed dog is now to be called Rowdy – we thought that was the best name for a dog – hubby almost wanted to get her a dog just so she could name him that – but that WILL NOT be happening. Maybe your Frenchie could be Rowdy?

  5. LatteLove on April 4, 2011

i love the name Jacques or Sebastien! so cute.

  6. Jennifer on April 4, 2011

I think he looks like a Bertrand or Bruno. You always want something you can yell easily. ;)

  7. Katy on April 4, 2011

AHHH! We have a little white Frenchie, too! :) You will love him. We named ours George W. However, porkchop was on the table, as well as Wellington, Worthington, and Bellvadere. Something you wouldn’t expect a dog to be named.

  8. Jessica Fey on April 4, 2011

    Nutella. …what?

  9. Nicole on April 4, 2011

He is the cutest little guy ever! I continue to take in stray dogs, and they happen to be females so I’ve never gotten to use my favorite boy names: Milo or Tucker. I also like Cooper.

But no matter what you name that little nugget, enjoy your new addition! :)

  10. Marit on April 4, 2011

Adorable! I have a Boston Terrier–gotta love the flat faced fur babies.

    How about Pierre?

  11. Glamour and Grace on April 4, 2011

Yay! How cute! I agree that Jacques or Sebastien are great names. Or Huebert (pronounced Hue-bear) would be adorable. Also, it might be my lack of sleep, but seeing the name Oxford next to him looks cute. Oxford would be a cute dog name.

  12. Crissy Farah on April 4, 2011

I am so in love with French Bulldogs, you got yourself one handsome furbaby! I am throwing King Louis into the naming hat.

  13. Laura on April 4, 2011

Oh my goodness. That is one endearing bulldog! I like Edmond.. (Eddie for short?) And it means prosperous protection. Winner winner chicken dinner.. :)

  14. Cindy on April 4, 2011

How about just calling him Garcon? :) I couldn’t do the squiggly under the “c”.

  15. Kristina on April 4, 2011

I know these arent French BUT Finnagin and Callahan are kinda sweet. My fur baby’s name is Bogart. He turned 8 years young today!!

  16. Kristy on April 4, 2011

    Toooo cute!!!
    how about Winston or Lux

  17. So freaking cute! We have an english bulldog but I’ve had my eye on the francophile version…just something about those ears!

Ok, name suggestion: Pepe (as in Pepe le Pew, the French cartoon skunk that kept running away from the little annoying girl who chased him around squeezing/hugging. Pronounced “peppy” not “pee-pee”…although by judging from your above comments, that could work too :)

  18. Mia on April 4, 2011

Um…totally just died. Your dog is possibly the cutest thing I’ve seen outside of my own two children.

  19. Lauren on April 4, 2011

Napoleon? Or Philippe? Or hey – Pepin, after King Pepin the short! (how fitting) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pepin_the_Short

  20. Roberta Fisher on April 4, 2011

    He is soooo cute .
    Pepi` would be cute .

  21. Rosana Elisa on April 4, 2011

Dupont (why not a french family name?), Claude, Vincent, Bourdieu (french sociologist :p), Saucisse :p , Meringue, Marcel, ou MILOU (TinTin’s dog: http://www.pierretintin.ch/assets/images/tintin_milou_gif_2.gif), Champagne, etc.etc.
You should take the french accent for the name :-)

  22. Melissa @ The Loveliest Day on April 4, 2011

Oh my god I love him!!! Congratulations:)

  23. Yvett on April 4, 2011

  27. Lauren Elise on April 4, 2011

OMG! DOG! Love him to pieces. French bulldogs are definitely a favorite of mine. Someone mentioned the name Winston and that would truly be amazing but I’m excited to hear what your top choices are. It definitely can’t be common…the Knotty dog needs something special :)

Even more excited at the possibility to see this little baby & squeeze him when I visit NYC this summer.

  28. Sarah ( A Paper Proposal ) on April 4, 2011

Sort of late, I know, but omg, he’s the cutest thing EVER! I’m dying for a bulldog…I have been for the longest time. I even have my name picked out for her already! Penny :) I probably sound crazy, but I love the more “frou frou” names for that cute & squishy face!!! I’m actually digging Lauren’s suggestion of Winston…

  32. Larisa on April 4, 2011

AMAZING DOG. I’m in love with these guys. I’m a huge fan of food as names for Frenchies, if you decide not to go with a human name. Especially partial to Pickle, Potato and Meatball.

  38. Alison on April 5, 2011

Andrew – thanks, little bro. “Dump” is an excellent name… one only a loving little brother could think up for his adoring older sister who will forget that he EVER SAID THAT. :P

Everyone else – GREAT NAMES. You’re making it hard to choose! But we can’t get enough of these suggestions! :)

  39. Nicole on April 5, 2011

I absolutely love him! He’s so cute – congrats on the newest addition, I have a frenchie too and they are seriously, The. Best. Dogs. Ever! Enjoy him while he’s tiny, they grow up so fast (haha).

  40. Kristen on April 5, 2011

  42. PUPPPPPPYYYYYYYYYY!!!!! Toooo cute!!!!!!

I also think Winston is a cute name!

    How abbouuuttt….

    Victoir, Warner, or Barnabe?? :]

He’s such a wrinkly, pudgy little one… I feel like a name starting with “B” or “W” would be cute…

    Non-French name: Charles!

Something fancy and proper would be so cute for him. <3
