THE HOT DRESS LIST, SPRING 2012 | Bridal Week Picks | The wedding dresses I would personally consider wearing.

So, it’s shedding season.  No one warned me about shedding season.  You guys have all of these wonderful tips and tricks about raising a Frenchie, but nobody thought to warn me about the indoor snowstorm a cream French Bulldog would create in my home once Spring hit?  There is so much white fur on this wood floor that I can’t wear dark colors in my own home anymore.  There is so much white fur all over this apartment that sexy time can be likened to coitus on the beach.  There is so much white fur around here, that honey and I are going to have to work on our tans if we want to be able to find one another in this apartment.  And whenever our sweet furbaby comes over to be loved/held, he has a few of his own hairs up his nostrils.  He inhales himself.  And I have to fish them out every time, which of course results in an unintended tickle attack on his face that I can’t yet figure out if he likes or not.  Thinking not.

Anyway, speaking of white snowstorms, here’s the whitest snowstorm you’ve likely seen all week, form of: Bridal Week Wedding Dress Favorites by TKB.  High kick!

I should mention that I wasn’t blown away this season, but there were definitely a good lot of gorgeous creations worth sharing with you.  And the ones I’m featuring in this post are truly the cream of the crop.  The only dresses I’d seriously consider trying on and wearing, myself.

Alright, away we go!  And at the end, as promised, a pupdate…

★ PUPDATE (puppy update) ★

On the naming front: there have been a few short-lived contenders.  Here’s a dumb one I came up with this past weekend.  You’re gonna hate it.  But you guys asked for an update, so…. :)

While waiting for the vet on Saturday, I was looking at pup’s paws, and said, “he has George Costanza hands; he should be a hand model. and we should call him Georgie.”

That lasted a couple of hours, and is still sort of a contender.  But not really.  But sort of.  BECAUSE WE ARE COMPLETELY INDECISIVE AND IT SUCKS.

By the way, he *does not love* McPuppyPants.  Or Pants.  Or Mac.

This will never end.  And a few of you told me yesterday on Twitter that with human babies, you can’t leave the hospital without naming your baby first.  This is apparently a new rule?  If this is an actual law now, I’m more than a little concerned.

Anyway, what do you think of my top picks?  Are you with me?  Against?  Any favorites?

On a scale of 1 to 10, how much do you hate the name Georgie for our puppy?  10 means LOATHE.  1 means LUURVE.

(By the by, we were also considering Robinson Canoli.  (I really like Cano.)  But my honey’s officemates shot that one down.  Sigh.  Get ready for a nameless existence, Mr. Pups!)

xoxo!  - Alison

Label(s): Color, Mr. McPuppyPants, White, {Bridal Market}, {Fashion}

Love all of this...

I give Georgie a 3. It’s got a nice ring to it. Especially since he’s a Frenchie! I love Cano. I prefer dog names that are easy to yell and have impact (for when someone is misbehaving!) Also, LOL to shedding season. We have a chocolate lab (and a second on the way because apparently we we aren’t insane enough yet) and we bought chocolate brown colored EVERYTHING. Furniture, rugs, clothes, you name it. The FURminator works WONDERS (we got ours off Amazon).

As the dresses go. You had awesome picks! I loved that long Amsale with the bow and the first Reem Acra.

Rachel – straight up George Costanza, eh? That made me laugh out loud. I like it. My honey is a different story. WHY can’t we like the same naaames?!!!

Brit – Marcel was my very first name idea. I LOVE it. But no one else likes it. Sad face. I still love it though.

J – thanks for the tip! We’ve been debating getting the Furminator but couldn’t see the point of spending like $50 on a fur thing. But hearing that it works changes our minds!

not loving georgie. I’m about a 5 on that one. I do wish he loved Knotty McPuppyPants, however. Or what about Deiogi? d. o. g. :) I second the vote on the Furminator. Our AussieGolden just had that done and it is FANTASTIC.

My other vote for name would be Batmin.

love the Monique Lhuillier dress w off the shoulder shirred sleeves & Carolina Herrera floofy one.

George is cute, but I think you should go with something french:

    Jacque
    Pierre
    Felipe
    Oliver

What about Oliver – that’s cute!

I adore Georgie, but Marcel made me stop in my tracks-how is that not McPuppyPants’ name already, huh?!?!?

I’m so glad that you were less than overwhelmed with this season’s collections-I feel terrible admitting it, but I pulled probably half the number of gowns I did last time around, which was half the number of the season before that! I just feel like everything looks so alike, and while it’s not necessarily a bad thing, it’s nothin’ special, either.

I’m also delighted to see we’re smitten with so many of the same dresses!

You have no idea how insanely happy it makes me that your dog could potentially be named after a Seinfeld character. That pretty much made my day :)

Georgie is cute! And I love how you arrived at it.

Another vote for straight up George Costanza.

Think of how often you can sing “cuh STAN zuh” at him.

Love love love those dresses…and love the nameless puppy. The perfect name is “Colonel Edward Watson.” Refer to him as “The Colonel.” I’ll be honest….that is the name of my Boston, who is similar to your pup (I think yours is a french bulldog?)
The Colonel has traveled all over the country with me and has been my best friend for nine years. At six years old he was diagnosed with cancer. The doctor said he only had six months to live, but it has been three years! I think he is sticking around to see me get married. :-) So point being, you need a name that is strong and proven amazing. Or….Sir Lark DiMartini; General George Pawberry; The Bard, etc.

My other dogs names are: Mr. Duke Darwin Wrigley & Chip- E. Smudgekin aka Hamlet the King of Omaha-ha-ha
