GLITZY GLAMOROUS DRESS LOVE | Vera Wang Sneak Peek + Memorial Day Weekend + McPuppyPants.

Happy Friday, cuddlywuddlies!  Ok, so I just twitter polled y’all to see if it was even worth it to blog today, given the long weekend, and you guys like totally said yes so I like totally am doing it!

However.

… Here’s the thing: straight up, I have zero thoughts in my head today.  Zilch.  Nada.  Weird, right?  I’m usually quite talkative.  I don’t know exactly what it is; could be the fact that I have a fan blowing sweet nothings at 50 miles per hour into my right eardrum, and the gusts of humid wind are ever so slightly pressing on my brain.  Could be that.  Or it could be that it’s Memorial Day weekend and I’m already checked out of this week, mentally.  Which I’m figuring goes for all of us.  Eh?  Or it could be The Oprah Effect, a phrase I’m not sure how to define, but that I’m officially coining as of this sentence.

You know what?  I’ll keep it short and sweet, partly because I know my USA peeps are probably leaving work early (or at least for your sake I hope you are; and if you aren’t, tell your boss that Alison said s/he should go eff him/herself because that’s hella lame and I do not approve, boss) and partly because I am low on brain activity today.

As you’ll remember from yesterday, little ol’ Alison had a date with Anne Chertoff and a few other lovely ladies over at the Vera Wang Bridal House… and, I mean, it was a’ight I guess.  Just kidding it was AMAZEBALLSNESS.  That is, if you like the idea of sipping Bellinis on plush grey couches whilst basking in the glamorous glow of Vera Wang’s voluminous gowns.  So, if you like that sort of thing, you probably would have enjoyed it.  I took away quite a bit, both tangible and intangible, and I’m excited to share the deets of it all next week.  Dresses, glitz, yummies and, perhaps most importantly, tips for brides from the Vera Wang crew that you seriously won’t want to miss.

But for now, here are some of my favorite shots from the evening.  I hope you dig ‘em :)

By the by, I took approximately a lot of pictures, so what you’re seeing today is maybe 1/64th of them.  It’s all I had time to edit, and I wanted to thrust these babies in your faces, immediate-style.  Of course, in my land, immediate-style translates to early afternoon if you’re lucky.

Anywho, what do you think?  Can you tell I’m a bit partial to the images of a particular dress?  Eh?  Eh? You’ve definitely got to have just the right set of cojones to walk the aisle in that numba one stunna, but if you do have that proper set, you MUST allow me to feature your wedding.  Because girl, that dress is going to light up the sky in your photographs.

In other news, it’s a bit of a scorcher here today, y’all.  So if it’s anything like this where you are, here’s what McPuppyPants and I suggest you do…

Sit immediately in front of a fan (legs crossed if you’re a lady, or an especially dapper puppy)…

Cool off your balls a little bit if that’s an issue for you…

… and have a lovely, relaxing and joyous long weekend ahead. :)

Ok, that’s not nearly enough puppy love for this post.

Here’s a shot of how he fell asleep yesterday:

And here’s a shot of him licking some peanut butter off of his paw:

Ok, I think that does it for today. :)

By the way, tell me, do any of you have any plans at all for this long weekend?  And are you with me on this low brain activity thingie going on I can’t even find the words to finish this sentence I’m feeling so dumb right now.

xoxo!  – Alison

P.S. – I heart you guys.

Love all of this...

Is it wrong that I want the feathery one? As I’d say to my puppy, Mai Wants eet!

In hot news, it’s horrid here (Bee Cave, Texas) with a ‘breeze’ straight out of Satan’s mouth. Mochs (my pups) and I are planning to cool her jets at the small amphitheater that has a jumping-water fountain. Soaking wet she weighs 6lbs. She’s no Bambino, but she’s a keeper.
Thanks for da bloggies today. They make me smiles.
Happy Memorial Day Weekend, eat lots o’ BBQ n tater salad.

Love, love the first one with the gray and white ruffles, so lovely. The sparkly dress is amazing. I would be nervous about the reflection…..but I do not have the cajones to pull it off.

And your doggie is the cutest ever…..I <3 him so much. I have two cats that I love, but I wish I could have a doggie.

My jaw is still on the ground – that first dress with the jeweled bodice is amazing. Does it come in other colors? It would be absolutely stunning for a New Year’s ball (or other party where a formal is required). McPuppyPants has the right idea about how to cool off – luckily or unluckily it’s not that warm in SF right now. :( Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

Sweet mother of baby Jesus. Vera Wang and Bambino make for an AMAZING mid-day distraction on the eve of a holiday weekend!

I’m feeling the same way, today-it’s Friday afternoon and I’m ready to escape the office! Of course, it didn’t help that when I walked in at 9am, there was a case of beer sitting in front of my female boss’ office. She sent me an email that read-”Let’s kick off this holiday weekend!”

I really love my job. If I couldn’t be at home enjoying weddings, I’d be here. In fact, they’ve even encouraged me to get my very own Bambino-the office is desperate for a French bulldog of their own!

Enjoy the weekend, and the AC darling!

  10. Brain activity definitely suffering over here in the scorching sunshine state! Not sure if it is from the rays and my dreams of beachin’ it up right now or just that I’m stuck in an office on FRIDAY before a freakin’ 3-day weekend. Who knows… Could be both. Wish I had a fan to stick my face in front of just for the simple fact that I could make funny noises into it to entertain myself for the next hour and a half. UGH. Love the dresses. Do.
