Well, hello The Knotty Bride readers!! We are so excited to have been asked to guest blog for a site we adore sooooooo much! We thought and thought and thought about how to best use this stage to chat with all of you and decided on sharing 10 lovelies we adore :) So, let’s get started!
Bella Umbrellas. Do you already own one? Perhaps you own two or three like we do {like we said… obsessed}? Well, we feel you just can’t have enough of these fabulous umbrellas. We adore the shape and all the colors they come in. So, why do we think this is such a great thing for your wedding? Well, becuz you can rent them!!! These vintage-y goodies come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, colors, and styles and are perfect if you want a ‘back up plan’ for that forbidden rain on your big day. There’s even and entire rental section dedicated to the most creative and beautiful white bridal umbrellas. We love the ones below, especially the Sex and the City pink one, which was photographed with model Anna Sabey by Alante Photography.
We are always on the hunt for the next flower we can obsess over … right now, it’s Peach English Garden Roses aka the Cabbage Rose. We love how fluffy they are and the color is brilliantly beautiful. It’s like nature’s put a big full rose into its own little teacup. Therese Jacinto Design put together the petal pretties below and we just love ‘em! These images were photographed by Rizza Riz Photography.
If you were one of the ones who kept hitting repeat on the ‘double rainbow guy video‘ then this next one’s for you! ;) Rainbows are everywhere right now and here’s why we adore them … if you are a bride who has trouble making a decision on which color is right for you, then you don’t have to … if you have a crazy amount of bridesmaids and they all love different styles and colors, then they’ll have their pick of the litter, and how incredibly cool do all these colors together look!?! Just make sure that you plan your ROY G BIV {the colors of the rainbow} with your girls in mind and make sure that Red gets along with Orange! The photo below was clicked by Laura Murray Photography and the gorgeous bouquets that match the dresses were designed by Cori Cook Floral Design out of Denver.
Oh how we love the next adored item … Concarta Cake Toppers!!! OMG are they delicious … err, make that go on something delicious!! Made entirely out of paper and personalized by your specifications, these toppers will literally ‘top the icing on the cake’! You can choose the cake topper that fits your wedding style :) Are you a little more hip? How about classic? Perhaps you are a groom and groom pair? Maybe you’re going to wear flowers in your hair? Whatever you want – she can make them resemble you! Just be sure and leave lots of time for the cake topper to be made – which you can check for on her site :) You can find these gems on Etsy.
Mmmmm, dessert – and lots of it. That’s the whole reason you eat dinner, right?? Well, we absolutely adore it when dessert is used as a decoration (prior to nibbling). We loved the way all the differently shaped and colored treats were displayed in this styled shoot which was designed by Coastside Couture. Yogurt dipped cherries, tiny pink cakes, and eclairs! These images were made swoon-able by Jill Johnson Photography and the treats were baked with love by Edith Meyer Wedding Cakes.
Want a wedding that looks like a kabillion dollars but completely isn’t? It’s all about the rentals. While it used to be just chiavari chairs to choose from, a perfect new trend is the new crop of vintage decor rentals. Are you searching for that perfect vintage table for your array of desserts? How about a special duo of chairs for you and your soon-to-be hubby? What about a box to keep your favors in that has character and a well-worn look? Vintage decor rentals are all the rage right now and we love how green and oh-so homespun it makes a wedding look :) The ones we are showing off below are from Milk Glass Vintage Rentals, which is located in Northern Cali… photographs by Images by Lori :)
We’ve noticed that florists have really stepped it up recently with all sorts of incredible additives to bouquets {ha! It makes it sound like they’ve got Splenda in them or something} We’re thinking something a bit more darling … like making paper flowers to include in them!! Below are two beautiful examples of this idea … the soft and whimsical gold and blue one was designed by Therese Jacinto Design and the frilly pink and white one with the newspaper flowers was designed by Birch Blooms. It’s a way to achieve colors and shapes that just can’t exist in nature. Therese photographed her own bouquet and Melissa Schollaert Photography snapped up the Birch Blooms ones :)
There’s no getting around it, the wedding day is THE BEST time to rock a veil or headpiece {our vote is for both – veil at ceremony and headpiece at reception} Veils and headpieces come in all sorts of shapes and sizes {something that Princess Beatrice perhaps took a skosh too far…} So how do you choose one and avoid coming off like Lady Gaga? Lately we’ve been obsessing over the refined and gorgeous headpieces at Bella Bleu Bridal, which include these pretties by Sara Gabriel. We love the ones below particularly because they are cascading cherry blossoms … it’s unexpected and just so gorgeous.
If you are looking for a way to add a HUGE IMPACT to your wedding reception tables, favors, and invitations/menus without adding a lot of bulk and without taking away from the colors on the table, then lucite is your answer. Oh how we adore lucite details. They work in about a billion ways because they can run super modern in their look, super frilly, or even vintage. With their shapes and the way you style them with their surrounding decor, they’re like, well, tofu {you get where we’re going right?} They just WORK. Estera Events came up with this look and concept and then collaborated with Luxecuts to make it happen. The way it turned out is beyond amazing. The images below were taken by Olivia Leigh Photographie.
When we saw these garters on Etsy, we were pretty much smitten kittens right away … We absolutely love frilly, girly things {what!? wedding bloggers like frilly and girly? go on…} and these garters pretty much take the cake on frills and lace. Yet… amongst all the frills, there’s definitely enough sexy to make him take back the garter from whomever grabs it in the toss. Designed by Claire of Florrie Mitten Couture and sold on Etsy, these garters are the perfect under-garment for your wedding day.

I must admit that I was thinking having all different colors for bridal party dresses would make pictures look disjointed and messy, however, this picture is gorgeous, fun and still looks elegant. The umbrella idea is also quite interesting and could add some pizzazz to your pictures.
Jenny @ Something Old, Something New on June 7, 2011
Great picks! I love the umbrellas – always makes for cute wedding pictures! And I’ve never seen those lucite chairs, but they’re great
