Ok, I’m going to put it out there that “a puppy licking the bottom of your foot right where your toes and your rest-of-foot (listen, I’m no podiatrist) meet” is quite possibly the most tickly (listen, I’m no grammatatist) feeling that exists in what I’ve found to be the crazy, limitless world of tickle potential. Of course, I’m welcoming other proposals for ‘more tickly.’ Go ahead, bring ‘em on. I do not have high expectations, however.
RIGHT. Ok, moving swiftly along…
It’s hard for me to explain to you exactly the reasons why I love this wedding. Maybe it’s the fact that I just love everything Jessica Burke does, because she’s REDONK, and so when she submitted the perfectly coordinated prettiness you’re about to behold, I was moderately pumped. Of course, there’s also the fact that our bride, stunning little lady that she is, also boasts a background in florals, so DUH it’s gonna be a good wedding. Goes without saying. And then, of course, there are the dancing photos – these things are always close to my heart and I pretty much live for them. But there’s also the tulips in mason jars factor, and add in their positioning – which is hanging from the arch under which they were married – and I’m on the floor, dead. But then there’s ALSO the fact that the color scheme was determined by the bride AND THE GROOM’S favorite colors.
OK. WE HAVE A WINNER. That last little factoid seals it for me. It’s the main reason I love this wedding. Ok, now we can finally get to the pictures!
Here’s the rundown from our gorgeous bride, Angel:
Mark & I have been friends for years but from the moment we started dating I knew this day would come! I hadn’t given much thought to what our wedding day would look like but as soon as we booked the venue everything else sort of fell into place. I always knew that I wanted to get married outdoors and in the fall, so an outdoor venue in Lafayette was the place and October 8, 2010 was the day!
My husband’s only request was that we use the color blue which was easy with my favorite color being orange the color scheme was born. The touches of birds we used felt right at home with all of the gorgeous trees surrounding the venue. Being outside in early October the weather was perfect and the sun set early so the white twinkling lights and the glow from the candles in quilted mason jars provided the simple romantic lighting I was hoping for. I had a love affair with ETSY and ordered just about everything off of the site including the wooden signs that we hung around the venue and our little bird cake topper.
We love our pup Patchy so very much and wanted to include him on the big day so he had a photo shoot with our photographer and we used the pictures on our table numbers.
The ceremony decor turned out to be my favorite part, the aisle filled with thick rows of rose petals, glowing candles and jars of flowers hanging in our bird topped arch with the trees as the back drop, it was the perfect place to say I do! Being a wedding florist myself I knew that I wanted flowers everywhere so with a trip out the flower mart the day before and some beautiful helping hands the flowers were a labor of love and I thought that they turned out perfectly! My wonderful Aunts and some very dear friends did all of the set up and coordinating on the big day and turned our vision into reality! I loved the simple and casual look and feel of everything when I finally got to see it all together it was better than I had imagined.
My godmother gave us of the gift of the Mariachi’s to perform during our cocktail hour and their music playing in the valley shaped venue and up into the trees was a very special treat! Our huge families and wonderful friends brought the celebration to life and made all of the hard work leading up to the day more than worth it!
And now, as always, one of my favoritest parts of a wedding…
↓ THE FRESH SKILLZ! ↓
I said WORK IT.
Ahhh… that’s perfect. Absolutely perfect. I really, really, really like this bride. :)
Now, I’m sure you read this in our bride’s blurb up top, but in case you missed it… the couple had a PHOTO SHOOT WITH THEIR PUPPY (I seriously need to do this already!) and they used those images in their table number decor!
OH SPEAKING OF PUPPIES……….
And now, I present another fine installment of A Day in the Life of Bambino McPuppyPants.
I love my rope sooooooo much.
… Hodihum hodeho hodehum ropity rope I LOVE IT! I LOVE MY ROPE! waddawaddawadda…
WHO WHAT WHO WHAT WHAT WHO

Ok, SO… what do you think of today’s wedding? Personally, I get a thrill out of each and every shot I see of a bride with her bridesmaids, and especially so when they’re so goshdang (did I just say ‘goshdang?’) color-coordinated!
And in other news, these peeps clearly DID THEIR THANG on the dance floor, which you guys KNOW I likes to sees…
I wonder, do you plan to rock out with your, uhhhhhhh… caulk out? You know, dance with your caulking gun… is what I mean. You understand.
xoxo! – Alison
