WHITE + MINT + LAVENDER | Whimsical Wedding Inspiration, FORM OF: Streamers, ribbons, bunting, treats, bottles & pointelle lace. Also, THINGS JUST GOT REAL.

First off, LOL.  I originally wrote “Steamers” instead of “Streamers” in the title.  GLAD I CAUGHT THAT BEFORE PUBLISHING TODAY.

Anywho, afternoon, lovelies!  What is it, like 3:30 EST?  Yeah, you’ll get why in a sec.  Ok, so I just gotta tell you that we’ve got relatively amazeballs things happening sooner and later this month, such as but not limited to: a fanFREAKINGtastic Sarah Seven giveaway (yes, that’s correct, ANOTHER giveaway from Sarah Seven, no big whoop), a photo shoot giveaway comin’ atcha in like A DAY, and lots and lots of real weddings that all tend to make my heart beat the way it did when I was in college and I had a lifesize poster of Dave Matthews above my bed.  Try to remember that Dave Matthews was appealing several years ago.  Not the today Dave Matthews.  Just, yeah, think back.  Who’s with me?  Don’t hate; appreciate.

Anywho, you guys.  It’s a helluva scorcher today where we are, which means the a/c is blasting (at a conservative 73 degrees; listen I’m no spendthrift) and, minus walks, puppy is spending most if not all of his time on his comfy day-pillow, mouthing his toys and generally frolicking in a most careful-not-to-overheat kind of way.  Lots of water.  LOTS.

Ok, now, before we get into today’s fabulousness which was submitted by the crazy talented Andi Mans, of Andi Mans Photography and Design, I just have a quick word to the wise for these hot summer days: while it’s very smart and green to set your a/c unit to “Energy Saver” right as you lay down to sleep, it’s generally unwise to do it if your faces and more importantly EARS are immediately adjacent to or rightupagainst said a/c unit, and especially if you inherited your a/c unit from the tenant before you – who enviably escaped to California to go surfing for the rest of his life, wear Dockers everyday, and stare at women’s naked bodies but only *for the articles; they’ve got great articles* (at least that’s the person we’ve created in our heads based on the catalogs that continue to arrive at our door; I’m sure it’s accurate) – and you find that he left that a/c unit behind most likely because, when it’s set on Energy Saver, it does this lovely thing that involves turning on for 7.3 seconds with a sound reminiscent of three lawnmowers powering on plus two girls having a screamfight with one another that isn’t going anywhere, and then turns off with the same intensity, except what follows that powerdown is approx. 13 cymbal slaps that grow farther and farther apart until they go away completely.  … Which would be fine if, following that last and final cymbal slap, it didn’t POWER ON AGAIN, and repeat the process FOR THE REST OF THE NIGHT AND INTO THE MORNING.  Also, I didn’t hear my alarm because we were kept in a state of half-sleep, half-WTF-IS-HAPPENING-TO-ME.  So, there’s that.  But I soldier on, because…

OMGOD THIS INSPIRATION IS THE HIZ-SHAY.  (Throwback to pig latin, HOLLA!!!)

My obsession with mint and all things minty in color is astonishing when examined closely.  So a submission such as this one is, at best, entirely unhealthy for me.  So YEAH THANKS, Andi.  Thanks a lot.

Anyway, here’s the lowdown from Andi, aka my ENABLER:

Pastels and creamy whites oh my! I just love the thought of when I was a little girl day dreaming for a wedding that was just full of white, pastels, whimsical and dreamy visions like this wedding inspiration. For a bride that is looking for a clean whimsical inspiration for her wedding, we offer this look with streamers, and ribbons to hang behind the small tea table. Elements of different glass bottles and glasses, pearls and lace make for a whimsical celebration.

Hope you love!

AAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!  Calm down, Alison, calm down.  But yeah, that was fun :)

And now, an evening in the life of Bambino McPuppyPants, PART ONE (warning, I went a little VERY crazy with the brightening on these pics, ’cause it was dark, and it was on my iphone, but it can be pardoned b/c I’m no photographer..k?  Thanks!):

I call this the “Sleep Sneak Up” followed by the “Gentle Ambush Which Is Not Really So Much An Ambush As it is An Attempt to Softly Awaken…”

That’s his *Snuggly Fooss”

And next, if you listen real closely, you might be able to make out a “SIIIIGH” coming from Bambi:

Little does he know…

THINGS ARE ABOUT TO GET REAL.

To be continued…

Generally involves rope play and puppy happiness.  yeah, I hate cliffhangers, too.  Not gonna do that to you.

Heart your faces!!!!

Ok, SO… does today’s shoot inspire you?  By the way, seriously?  Puppy pics are SERIOUSLY not getting old for y’all yet? I think the funniest thing that’s happened along this journey of featuring the pup on the blog is the amount of photographers ASKING ME to include Bambino in their features.  Seriously.  Man I love my work.

Ok one more thing: do you love streamers hung as art installations as much as I do?  Because, for me, they’re orgasmic.  Are you comfortable admitting that they are orgasmic for you, too?  If not, what’s orgasm-inducing for YOU?  I guess you can say sex, if you wanna be all basic about it.  But I will also accept answers such as: bunting, feathers, diamonds, happiness… the list goes on.

*smooch* ← I’m doing that to your FACE.  Hope you don’t mind too much.

xoxo!  – Alison

I’m obsessed with mint anything, too :) It’s such a fresh, springy color and makes everything look so chic and happy! Right on. And I love streamers, bunting, and all those things you mentioned. Not to the level of them being orgasmic, per se, but definitely quite a lot. ;)

I couldn’t keep my mouth closed when I scrolled down through this. It’s all just gorgeous and inspiring and now I want to completely rethink my color scheme. DAMMIT! Maybe I should just have 3 weddings?

Sarah – I agree. So lovely. And bright colors always perk me, which I especially needed today after the a/c debacle. :)

Annie – Nice! A fellow mint obsessor. I like it. :)

Claire B. – I’m sure your color scheme is perfect. It’s a dangerous slope to start second guessing! :)

This shoot has so many things I love: milk glass, chalkboards, and doilies. So I pretty much love it times 3.

Oh, this shoot! Now wonder you’re craving mint-I feel 5 degrees cooler just breezing through these GORGEOUS photos! Would it be weird if I made a pretty streamer installation with a lovely tablescape and just left it in some portion of the living room for always? I hope not.

Kate – Me too!!!! I love the whiteness of it all. So crisp and clean.

Alicia – OMG. Tiny bunting is the best. Seriously. It’s one of those things I just don’t think I’ll ever get sick of. And chalk boards. :)

    Never too much puppy…. Ever

I love STREAMERS – or ribbon that looks like it is supposed to be streamers. It’s so dramatic.

    Ahhhh…. what a nice break from O-chem.

I’ve got babies on the brain. (My sister’s baby shower is tomorrow.) How gorgeous would that be for a nursery inspiration? Sigh…dreamy.

Speaking of dreamy, nothing. NOTHING is more adorable than a snoozing puppy.

Lovely! Three of my favorite things: buttercream, milk glass, and squishy puppy face. I really like the light pastel shades together.

Ohhhh I am l o v i n g that color palette! And the streamers! It makes me want to eat those pastel colored marshmallows…weird?

Oh and I’m from Dave Matthews hometown, so I totally remember when he was appealing for all the right reasons hahaha

Also…. if you stop posting puppy pics I would legitimately probably cry. And the boyfriend would run around the apartment doing the Rocky victory dance. Your call!!!! :)
