WATERFRONT WEDDING | Two of My Most Favoritest Wedding Wow Factors… | Also, The Fateful Conclusion of Yesterday’s Cliffhanger, “Fouffy Face,” starring Bambino.

FYI, this bride’s jewelry needs to report to my neck immediately.

Happy Wednesday eeeeeevuhhning, my lovahs from otha mothahs!!  On this beautiful Wednesday night, I can’t imagine a better way to start a post, than with a phone conversation you weren’t involved in.  Amirite?  HERE WE GO:

*ring ring ring ring*

Mom: hellooooo?

Me: Hey Maaaahhhm.

Mom: hiiii sweeeetiiieeeeeee.  WHADDYA WANT!  *giggle*  I’m kidding, wussup?

Me: I’m taking Bambino on vacation with us.  I can’t leave him.  Sorry.

Mom: Honey!  You’re such a silly.  But now you understand why Dad and I couldn’t ever go on vacations when you guys were little!  And why we came home from St. Barts early!

Me: Yeah, I definitely get it now.

Mom: How long was he crying, by the door, when we left yesterday.

Me: Oh hours more.  Please take note for the future, that flash visits from grammy and grampy = torture and longing for more.  So weird.  Honey says he whimpers when I leave, but that only makes sense because I’m his Mother.  He rarely sees you!

Mom: I give him banana.

Me: That’s why?

Mom: That’s why.  I give him banana.

So FYI, if you’re wondering why I err on the side of a good mood most days, it’s because of her.  She’s just one of the people who keeps me laughing every day.  Sometimes not on purpose.  Do you have anyone like that in your life?  They’re important, to have.  Critical, actually.  In fact, quite a few of you guys are that to me, too.  S***, all of a sudden I’m feelin’ kinda lucky right now, I just realized that.  Lemme squash that real quick, the gratitude is messing with my gangsta flow.

Ok, so today’s feature, submitted by the absolutely fantastic folks of Esvy Photography, is a stunner because I’m currently heavily fixated on fantastic bouquets (I will forever be a lover of dusty miller, let the record reflect this – do not ever strike it from the record, keep it… keep it on that record) and blingy, fat statement pieces around the neck and face.  and the statement piece our bride is wearing in this wedding is BURNING MY RETINAS WITH IT’S INTENSE AND BLINDING RAYS OF REFLECTIVE BEAUTY.  I’m pretty obsessed with it.  In fact I’m planning on befriending her so that we can cultivate a relationship over the span of a few years, get really close, besties even, all in a deceitful effort just to get my hands on it during a sleepover one fateful night.

Ok I just said that out loud.

↓ lol somebody’s getting impatient

How cute are these photo booth style shots of them?!  If you said “this cute” and motioned with your arms *out to here* then we’re in the exact same boat my friend.  And the water’s fine.

A few words from our gorgeous bride:

For our wedding, we were aiming at a spring feel with the flowers and colors. We chose the Admiral because we both love being by the water and that was one of the best (maybe only?) waterfront locations. We chose the church because that was where I was baptized. Our favorite moment would have to be seeing everyone on the dance floor enjoying themselves to the band and of course the kiss at the alter after we were pronounced husband and wife!  We both love to entertain and our main objective was to make sure everyone had a good time since a lot of people traveled such a great distance to celebrate with us — I think it worked!

And now… the dramatic conclusion to A Day in the Life of Bambino McPuppyPants’ Feature Film, “Fouffy-Face.”  Not starring Audrey Hepburn.  (Sorta sounds like a movie Audrey would be in.  Oooor I’m just officially starting to full-fledged lose my mind because I post puppy picture show sitcoms on a wedding blog on the regular.  Regardless, we begin…

Grammy and Gramps bought The Bambeeen some news toys day before yesterday.  It took 1.3 days for what you’re about to see, to unravel.  ENGAGE BULLDOG JAW POWER – LEVEL: MAXIMUM…

ok right THERE – THERE SEE IT, ABOVE?  That was the toy dolphin’s first fatal mistake.  Never let Bambo take you to a different location.  This is survival 101.

Ok, so now that Bambo’s secured his victim, it is time for mouth-anchored roundhouse kicks and guffaw chomping…

“WHO WHAT WHO WHAT WHAT WHO!!!!!!!

IT’S HER! SHE SEES ME!!!!!!!!!”

And then, he does something unexpected… he shoots me a look that made me question everything I believe in…it shook me to my core…

That look… it was as if to say… “we cool, right?  Because this?  This right here?  It’s happening.  So you better figure out reeeaaaal soon if ya in or ya out.  ’Cause this train? Yeah IT AIN’T STOPPIN’.”

So there you have it, my friends, my buddies.  The story of how Bam went from good little puppity pupp, to…

FYI, I put waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much work into that.  Like, an embarrassing amount.

FIN

Anyway so yeah he loves to mothereffing tear the motherloving s*** out of his new toy dolphin that last one day.

The annoying part is, I die for rough horseplay like this with him.  But he won’t do it.  He refuses to play rough with me; only cuddles.  Which is great, I know, but he plays rough with papa, grampapa, even sometimes grammama – and she’s a nicer, gentler person than I’ll ever be.  It just must be some sort of gentle mommy thing.  And I HATE IT.

*I was kidding yesterday.  No real dolphins were harmed in the making of these photos.

Quick note: About this post’s title… wedding success, to me, is defined by the feeling that you, as a couple, have achieved a day during which the love that bounced around the room was so potent, so deep and so *felt*, that you can’t help but smile at the thought of that day.  Forever and ever into the future.  ’Cause that’s the point.  That’s the ONLY point.  The rest is just EXTREMELY FUN.

So anyway… thoughts?  On anything, as usual.  I’d love to hear what you think of her bouquet and her bling… and seriously HOW GORGEOUS IS THIS BRIDE, PEOPLE.  HOWWWWW.

Also, I wasn’t kidding around.  I seriously did put WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much work into that Bambino feature.  I’m gonna go over there right now and feel like a ridiculous.

xoxo!  - Alison

The wedding is gorgeous and the colors amazing…but I scrolled down to see Foufy Face and laughed because I had a feeling that he ate the innards of a stuffed animal! Your captions are hilarious which I needed after attending a conference where everyone is talking about themselves! Oy! Love the comic relief! xo

I’m a little upset I didn’t make it to the comments first, but it’s okay because I was having a mental break down and actually CHEWING on a rubber coaster on desk. CHEWING ON IT LIKE BAMB.

So really, thank god for the dusty miller and the bling and that gorgeous gray and yellow color scheme and also for letterpress even if I can’t quite tell if it’s directly involved in this wedding but the tactile sensation makes me want to rip out all my hair slightly slower so as to enjoy the process. And for you, for making this place where I can say these things.

Or maybe I should just go all Ahrnald on a dolphin chew toy like Bambs, because that boy is clearly living in a stress-free zone. Would John photographing it and making an equally impressive collage be better or worse that your Photoshopped journey through the afternoon?

    FOUFFY FACE!

Laura – yellow is such a rockin’ color when done right. Agree!

Casey – What a delightful comment to read! Love it. I’m sure my Mom smiled wide reading that. One day… one fine day… :) xx

Lena – fyi, re: earlier conversations; I’m going with “vocket” now, combining vaheeen and pocket, to vocket. I think it works. Yeah so we’ll continue this highly inappropriate-but-hopefully-never-ending?-conversation on Twit. Til then, my love! (see, now who’s the crazy one? I hope I’ve calmed you down from your rubber munching. We have no rubbers in or around the vicinity, of any kind, so I don’t know what that’s like, especially having it in your mouth. I imagine, moment-killing? Guessing, only.)

Ahhhh, laughter. Thanks for making me laugh out loud (or at least audibly under my breath) multiple times in this post. Thanks also for posting a killer wedding with some serious bling. If you don’t deceptively befriend this bride, then I will. Perhaps I’ll beat you to it. Aaaand, last but not least, thanks for warming my heart so with your comments about your momma and your oh-so-true definition of wedding success. I actually needed to hear that tonight. I’ve been reviewing my recent nuptials in my head WAY too much lately, feeling small twinges of regret/disappointment at the insignificant things that went wrong. But in the end, I know, without a doubt, that everyone felt the love that night. And you’re absolutely 100% right–that is ALL THAT MATTERS.

The pictures are absolutely beautiful. I love the photo of the rings in the middle of the flower. The shoes – LOVE! And the convo between mother and daughter was hilarious.

But I gotta say Bambino totally stole the show. That face – so adorable. Bambino should have his own blog.

How crazy! I almost decided on this venue! We are both water lovers as well but decided to go with a slightly cheaper venue since our budget is tight. However I love, love, love it and love this wedding! I can’t get enough of this bouquet and will probably have one similar. I can’t ever describe how I want mine and this is a perfect image!
