DESSERT STYLING + RYAN BAMBINO GOSLING | Hand-stamped love letters, cake pops, heart toppers, milk glass and porcelain vessels by DIY + Styling Bloggista, Andrea Gray Harper! Plus, our Emici Bridal Giveaway Winner!

Omg longest title EVER.

Happy Tuesday afternoon, my loveliest of loves.  How are you all doing?  Here’s what’s going down in this here blog post today: it’s that time of week again, and one of our fab bloggistas is out to play, which means killer inspo, as per usual.  But then I’ve got a little something vs. something quiz I hope you dig at the very bottom which you’re going to scroll down to right now because we’re an immediate satisfaction driven society and I can’t blame you as I’d do the same because what the hell is she talking about, right?  A quiz?  No I’m with you, I get it.  But then you’re going to come back up here, to this paragraph if all goes according to plan, and you’re going to find out that today’s dessert table ideas are inevitably going to knock out the front of your face the way deer inevitably knock out the front of your car when traveling cross-country.  Or to market, for those of you who live among deer.  I forget that wildlife and people coexist, as I’m a city girl.  Anyway, fortunately, you don’t need any kind of insurance for this scenario!  Phew.  Especially since you’re probably in between coverages right now.  So the last thing you need is a debilitating injury, to the face.

What the f*** am I talking about.

Listen, I can’t seem to make legitimate, relevant metaphors today.  They’re all coming out crazy.  So I’ma just go with it.  So here, I hope you enjoy the inspiration mallots our beloved DIY & Styling Bloggista Andrea, of Gray Harper Event Maker, is sharing with you today, as they are hardly the type meant for Whack-A-Mole.  They’re in fact quite gentle on the noggin’.  (<– see?  I sound crazy today.  … crazier than I normally sound, I mean.  It could be the full night’s sleep I got.  I don’t do well with a full eight hours.  You think I’m kidding.)

Ohhhh, before we get into it (hahah I can never just get to the pictures, I am incorrigible)… I mentioned earlier on Twitter that “I am having a hard time not licking the screen over what’s coming up today.”  That was a reference to the desserts.

Well, in a delightful twist, one of my beloved Twitter followers, Three Apples Events, said:

“@3applesevents: @theknottybride something gosling? ;) RT @theknottybride: I am having a hard time not licking the screen over what’s coming up today.”

Well played.  I see you have my number, Three Apples Events.  I’m sure you know what this means, right?  It means you get a Ryan Gosling photo.  And YOU get a Ryan Gosling photo.  And YOU get one.  And YOU!  And YOU!  In the form of a quiz following this AMAZEFACE INSPIRATION SHOOT THAT HAPPENED!

Here’s the rundown from Andrea:

This beautiful shoot is inspired by the overlapping of the beginning of fall and the end of summer. Though I am sad to say goodbye to the summer months, I must admit that fall truly is my favorite time of year! The team of Jade + Matthew Take PicturesGray Harper Event Maker, and M Sweet Desserts designed this yummy dessert table inspiration shoot with delicious desserts, fabric and paper hearts, tissue paper pom-poms, and lots of lovely details in between. Using the neutral color palette of white, gold, cream, and brown showcases the amazing mini desserts. Millissa, of M Sweet Desserts made mini chocolate peanut butter cupcakes, mini lemon meringue tartlets, s’mores lollipops, and vanilla and chocolate cake ball lollipops and tied in the theme with gold and dark brown cake liners. Mini tissue paper pom-poms were the perfect mini addition to the table full of mini desserts. The jar filled with love letters, along with the love birds and hearts tie together the underlying and always present theme of love.

PART III – A DAY IN THE LIFE OF MCPUPPY

Now that approximately one hundred thousand of you lovely people have shared with me that fantastic – and I mean fantastic – Gosling vs puppy tumblr site, I’ve decided that I’ve just got to do something.  This was pretty much an inevitability if you think about it…

WHO’S CUTER:

Bambino or Ryan Gosling?

It’s ok, you can be honest, it won’t hurt my feelings.  Personally I’m struggling to decide myself.

(Lot’s more where that came from, if you want it.)

So, friends, I’d love to hear your thoughts on any of the following, or something entirely different and ill-suited for any kind of meaningful discussion but on your mind nonetheless…

1) Seriously, Ryan or the puppy.  Lay it on me.

2) Do you enjoy the idea of a dessert table at your wedding?  It’s quite a popular thing, and for good reason, since it creatives some seriously pretty decor, great eye candy for photographs, and tastes grrrrrrrrrEAT!

3) Do you think you’d be inclined to try and create it yourself, or are you all about letting the professionals do what they do best, and leave you to relax… or at least, focus your freak-out-attention on OTHER things. ;)

xoxo!  - Alison

The puppy wins in a heart beat. But luckily that doesn’t mean I want to sleep with him. If that is what we are talking about then clearly I have to give the victory to Ryan. Since we are just discussing cuteness, Bambinious wins for sure.(A new little name that just came to me.) That is what we are talking about, right? Or did this conversation just get awkward?

    FIRST!

Now that that’s over with, can I tell you how much I lurrrrrrve this table? The scale, the details, the MAGIC. And you know, even with all that love I’m not sure I would actually have one. Is it just me, or are the best dessert tables the styled ones? Would this table look sad when half its little treats are eaten, or am I the only person in the world that worries about these things?

Oh, I am? Okay. That’s cool, you detail dilettantes.

But really, this is always what I think about after the initial “Prettiest thing ever” wears off.

AND, Bambs>Ryan. Period, end of story.

Wow. Those dessert tables are about as yummy as Ryan Gosling.

However, Alicia is right—when it comes to “cuteness,” Bambino takes the cake right off that dessert table.

Bambino all the way! That was easy.
Speaking of easy, the decision to have a dessert display at your wedding should be just that. It’s a crowd pleaser, and by crowd I mean me. I am very pleased by artfully arranged treats. Only problem I have, people have to eventually eat the sweets and pick the table apart. I seriously didn’t want anyone to eat our wedding cake buffet because I wanted to look at it forever. I say get the professional help of a planner, or even your baker. And keep your venue coordinator in the loop, too.

Clearly, Bam’s got this one. I, for one, could not pass up that adorable, furry face.

The End of Summer/Fall dessert table is divine! It would work so perfectly for a New Year’s Eve wedding/party too. I would be a little sad to see it get picked over & not look so beautiful. But the alternative of nobody eating anything & being forced to eat everything myself seems much, much worse.

I am thinking of having a dessert table like this in lieu of a big fancy pants cake. We will already have a smores set up for the wedding, I’m just concerned I am going to over-sugar everybody :P We also might do a pie table, since my wedding will in the fall months category ^_^

And I have to admit…might be a tie between RG and Bam. I guess that means RG will just have to show up in person to settle this once and for all! ;)

    Bambino = Cute
Ryan Gosling = Sexy enough to lick even if he hasn’t showered in several days

ON a related note: wedding treats > wedding cake.
