You guys, he’s ready to stay up… are YOU?

SO!  It’s 3pm EST and I’ve got waaaaay too many puppy pics going on in this post for you.  But I promise there’s weddingy stuff packed in here, too.  High kick, woot!

And by the way, YES, that’s a remote in his hand, yes, HE put it there, and yes, you bet he’s staying up.  He’s the Knotty Puppy; his business is weddings-by-proxy.  Of course he’s staying up.  You think he’d miss “The Wedding of the Century (or so they say)?”  He also has a pretty big crush on Kate Catherine Middleton Windsor-knot.

At 5am-ish, he’s going to do his stretches…

And watch the shiz outta that wedding.  Watch the godforsaken SHIZ out of it!

In other news, the weather is being a bit of a bridezilla today, crying intermittently for no reason and then being all warm and pretty on the turn of a hat.  Ah well, you just roll with it.  In fact, I feel pretty inspired by all this sky fickleness, so I’ve decided that today’s post should be equally as random.  Because I like competing, even with the sky.

But first, here’s a peek (← that’s how it’s spelled, world) into life with McPuppyPants these days.  He’s slowly growing up, and his adorable quirks are developing into full blown personality traits…

You guys, my feet have NEVER BEEN CLEANER.

Here’s how he likes to spend most of his time… right up on us, or right up against us, nuzzle-style:

Let’s getting weddingy for a bit, shall we?  Here’s a little FYI as far as the *Big Moments* go, if you’re following the Royal Wedding (barf paired with I wish it was my wedding paired with I hate the idea of wearing mostly pantsuits for the rest of my life):

Kate Middleton will be stepping into Westminster Abbey at 6am EST, and William & Kate will kiss at 8:25am EST.  I think we can all manage to get up n’ adam for that last one, amirite?

And now, here’s a random note to all my beautiful brides out there in the ether.  As you continue planning your wedding, whenever you start to get frustrated/frazzled/fed-up over even the littlest things, just try to remember these facts:

1. at least you don’t have to shake a thousand hands a day for the rest of your life, even when you’re on your period or have a really bad headache, or are just *really not feeling like shaking 1000 hands today*

2. at least you don’t have to trade in your wardrobe for a few pretty dresses and a lot of sensible suits.

3. at least you don’t have to worry about stupid shiz like this being made with your face on it.

Oh, fun fact, completely unrelated: I found out today, ON THE REALSIES, that pregnant women and their honeys should have absolutely no fear whatsoever about having the sex.  You see, the cervix separates your growing baby from his growing p… omgdidijustwritethat?

Stuff you should totally consider for your wedding day, etsy-edition.  (Ok so I think I officially win the randomness title for today, right?  EAT ME, SKY.)

The Ophelia, a black tulle bandeau veil, and The Sabine, a large, layered hair flower, both crafted by Vendor Love member Serephine and lovingly photographed by Kali Lu Photo, make my serotonin levels skyrocket and have become new favorites in the veil category of my heart.

I love the super-bohemian look of these mini veils.  Your photos would be bonkers.

Next up, a super simple, super gorg Pearl Necklace In Black Satin Ribbon, inspired by Carrie Bradshaw, or whatevs.

Love the cream one, too.

Just do me a favor – don’t wear those sheer mini gloves like Skinnyarms McThickfingers.  Looks terrible.  Pick finger-fitting gloves, so your fingers don’t look like bleached sausages.

I got so excited when I found everything I’ve compiled here; they’re quite possibly the loveliest hair accessories I’ve ever seen in my adult life.  (I’m sure pink Hello Kitty hair pins with my name on them were my top choice when I was a wee babe, so that’s why I’ve clarified.)

If you’re trying to achieve a natural look, you’d like to keep it simple with the ‘do, or you’ve simply got a few fly aways that need taming and you’d rather not ugly up all that pretty going on up there on your wedding day… I suggest using a few of these gorgeous twig-like pins to hold things down.

With these hair pins, you don’t have to worry about ordinary bobby pins ruining those precious and often gorgeous close up shots of your ‘do.  I once did a photo shoot where I had a gazillion bobby pins up in there, and the photographer actually asked to take them out before she took any more pictures of my hair.  So, with that in mind, I suggest bringing a few of these nature-inspired pins along with you for your stylist to use, or even just throwing some of them in one of your bridesmaid’s clutches, for safe keeping.

Aaaand, if you’re looking for a laugh, you should get the Solid Bronze Bird’s Nest Hair Pins…

P.S. – I wanna hug all of your faces.  I sincerely wish that was possible.  Sadly, my bosom would inevitably be involved, and I don’t have enough discretionary income to fight the harassment lawsuits that would ensue.  So here’s me hugging your face, the ethical/safe/lawsuit-free way…

I can’t tell you how overwhelmingly heartwarming it is to hear from so many of you how excited you are for the launch.  Believe it or not, I just can’t explain in words how it actually makes me feel.  It has, on occasion, brought me to tears.  But I’m a little emo, so don’t get all proud of yourselves or anything.  ;)  I don’t want to drone on and on about it, I just want to thank each and every one of you for loving The Knotty Bride, and being so freakin’ psyched to see what’s coming!  I heart you guys!  You’re the greatest, and it’s because of you that I do this every day.  In fact, I can’t even imagine not doing what I do every day here on The Knotty Bride, so it’s an incredible feeling to know that you guys feel the way you do about what you see here every day.

I don’t suspect cats will be on your guest list, but Vana included some darling pics with kitties, and there was no way I was going to leave them out.  Especially the last one in this post.  You’ll see.

They’re called Smitten Sticks, and they are just the cutest.  By the way, as you can see, it’s more than just mustaches.  You get smiling mouths, puckered lips, and what looks like the 2-D version of giving the raspberry!  Okay, yes, it looks a lot more like sticking out your tongue, but giving the raspberry is more fun so I’m gonna make believe it’s that.  Maybe it would be a good idea for a new stick?

I think these would rock any wedding.  I’m not the hugest fan of those black mustaches you see around; I don’t hate them, but I just don’t see my guests wanting to have their close-up shots be of them wearing thick, dark mustaches.  I just don’t see it.  But to each his own, am I right?  Anyway, that is precisely why I love these pastel prints; they afford guests with a fun, totally playful way to take pictures, without making them look like Tom Selleck’s or Burt Reynolds’ understudies.

If there’s one thing about these two pictures, it’s that they completely make sense.

(Moving right along) … Not to mention the fact that the props themselves function as the blast of color for the photos!  With those dark mustaches you see around, you need to select the right backdrop or sass up your duds with bursts of color.  Not the case with Smitten Sticks.

We went to Macy’s this weekend and somehow had tons of fun there. This was not part of it:

You know what’s weird about Macy’s? They keep their intimate lingerie right smack up against their baby clothes. Maybe I’ll get this one day, when I have a baby. But right now, it’s crazytown to me. First: surrounding me and my sweetie with adorable but threatening-in-terms-of-what-they-forbode baby clothing is not conducive to an enjoyable and therefore profitable-for-you lingerie shopping experience. Second: WTH. Why are you juxtaposing baby clothes and intimates, all on one level? Ok, I DO get the connection, but why did you guys choose the logical approach to store organization in lieu of the profitable one?

Anyway, guess what? We left with nothing. And while the baby clothes didn’t help, it’s mainly because I’m not a fan of purchasing my underthings off of tables that look like they’ve been rummaged through by those women who somehow get their makeup all over everything they try on. Where are you women who do this? And how do you manage to do this? Because this cannot be accidental, this getting of makeup stains onto underwear. Unless you pull on your panties from over your heads. Which is imposseeeblay.

Anyway, I wanted to show you these rad lace necklaces this morning, so that’s what I’ll still do. Because you guys need to hear more about these lace necklaces, and less about dirty underwear.

By the way, I considered recounting my very unexpected though totally right on politics-wise Sarah Palin dream, but I figured that would be a bore and a half. I also considered discussing Courtney… excuse me, Kourtney… Kardashian’s love life, but there’s a child involved, so I don’t really feel like ripping on any baby daddies today. Then I considered talking about the extremely sad reality that today’s the last day we’ll be babysitting my cousin’s boxer, Apollo, and I realized that would just make me sad.

So I went with makeup-stained underwear from Macy’s. Go, stories!
