Happy Friday, my dears!  How are y’all doing today?  The humidity seems to have dissipated in these here parts (which you’re probably thinking are in the deep south what with the dialect I’ve employed today) and I’m excited to announce that the a/c units in our home have officially pseudo-sickened each and every one of us!  We’ve got that sniffly, stuffed up feeling only an a/c unit can deliver, and it’s so great!  I mean the feeling is just amaz-kidding, this sucks and I’m hoping it goes away soon.  We’re all sneezing in each other’s faces up in here.  And you should see what happens when the wee one sneezes.  He’s only three years old, but he’s got more sneeze goo coming out of the holes in his face than I had previously  believed could come out of a child’s face.  He’s breaking records here.  It’s like in that movie with Adam Sandler (Big Daddy I think) when that little boy sucks up his loogie.  You remember that scene?  Except with my nephew it’s coming out of all orifices and it’s just hanging there, and if you don’t get a tissue fast enough he starts to whimper and cry and freak out a little bit.  But if the tissues are miles away like they always seem to be in these situations then he does start to suck it up and it’s soooooo ickyyyyyyy.  I mean, where does it go?  I’m going to stop talking about this.  I hope you aren’t gagging right now.  I’m sorry.

Massive necessary subject change: everyone randomly started salsa dancing early this morning in the kitchen.  How did this come about?  I’m Alison and this is my family, that’s how.  But seriously, weird dance competition breakouts are par for the course, and I’m alright with that.  But for the sake of an explanation: we’re visiting my parents, and as you know the sister and her family are in town, and you know those salsa lessons the boy and I have been taking?  Somehow, someone got a hold of the special “salsa for beginners” mix we brought home from dance class last week (which, btw, was a burned cd yet it cost me a WHOPPING $10.  Say whut?).  Ok, if I’m honest, we left the cd on top of the boombox in the kitchen.  So my bad.  But not really, because a dance competition in the am is exactly the way my mornings start in my dreams.

Ok, WTF.  This is getting ridiculous.  I’m getting to the Fab Finds right now.

Happy Friday, everybody!  How are y’all doing today?  I hope well!  The weekend begins soon and I’m rarin’ to go.  We’re going dancing again tonight (salsa, if I haven’t shared that yet) and I couldn’t be more psyched about it.  Granted, we haven’t practiced enough AT ALL, but that’s more my fault than his, because he’s certainly tried to get me to do a few steps here and there.  The thing is, it’s always in public, in front of other people.  That might sound silly, but those other people aren’t also dancing, like us.  They’re shopping for clothes at the mall, or pumping gas, or searching for home decorating supplies at Restoration Hardware, or some other everyday activity monotonous enough to make a young couple dancing a hugely eye-catching deal.  I usually have enough cojones to do a few steps before I crumble into a ball of giggling embarrassment.  I’m working on it.

Anyway, I saw Inception with my siblings/the boy this past weekend.  Let me tell you something: see it in IMAX because it will rule your face.  This movie was action-packed, in a no-time-to-breathe-because-this-movie-is-constantly-action-packed sort of way, so if you like breathing and generally appreciate arcs in your story line, then this might not be the perfect flick for you.  But, on the other hand, if you like things that are awesome, then forget that last thing and go see Inception.  Wheeeee!  Loved it.  The guy seated next to us had part of his butt on my honey’s seat and he kept accidentally moonlanding with my guy, because he was so wholly on edge the whole time that he was watching the movie sideways, at-the-ready to hide his face (which had a permanent look of alarm the ENTIRE TIME).  He had to be about 35.  Awesome.

Hey everyone!  Happy Friday!  Hope you’re having a pleasant day so far!  K, story time:

The boy and I had one of those wavelength moments this past Monday.  You know those moments when both of you are idling in the same room or car, listening to music or watching a show, and you look at one another, and you KNOW you’re thinking the same thing?  Well, it happened on the way to the mall, in the car, this past weekend… while listening to Hip Hip Chin Chin by Club Des Belugas.  SYTYCD fans, I know you’re with me on this.  But if you’ve never watched the show, let me break it down for you.  No, even better, check this out (fast forward to 1 minute to see just the dance) or this – it’s crisper.  Then you’ll understand.  Anyway – the mutual thought?  TO BECOME COMPETITIVE DANCERS.

Hey.  Stop laughing.

Aright, on to the Finds!  … Wait wait wait wait wait.  I have to mention one quick thing.  I {heart} you guys.  Ok done.

Now, on to my obsessions:

I discovered those mason jar escort cards you see up top over on the lovely Ruffled.  Did you know that mason jars = one of my favorite things to use in a wedding?  No?  Well now you do.  And I know I’m not alone in this.

♡ BEAUTY TIP TIME ♡

Concerned about your complexion as your wedding approaches?  Or just want a more effective way to maintain clear skin?  I don’t think I could live without St. Ives Apricot Scrub (not a sponsor, just love).

I use it in the shower, and I use it all the time.  Whenever I go on vacation, a mini tube of this goes with me.  Process: wet your face, scrub onto your face and neck, then rinse off with really warm (I use hot) water.  I love the way my skin feels/looks afterward!

If you’re looking for some seriously detailed advice from a teenager out of one of those “haul videos,” then, if you have the time and the patience, there are a couple of good makeup tips in this here video.  I don’t remember each tip she dropped, but I can’t seem to move the play button back, and I don’t think I can stand to watch the video over again from the top.  So whatevs.  I miss out.

Ok… lemme know your favorites!  I am so digging on those doily coasters IT’S NOT EVEN FUNNY ANYMORE.  Ooh, and by the way, I hope you all have the loveliest of weekends!  Here are my plans so far: salsa dancing with the boy (yeah, I was serious), and going to the Apple store to replace my wireless mouse, which my beloved nephew accidentally dropped (threw) within the first few hours of his month-long visit!  No, but seriously, it’s IMPOSSIBLE to be upset with him; first of all, he’s three, second of all, he immediately said, “Ooohhh, I’m so sorry!!!”  I don’t know if you’ve ever been in the room when a three year old said, “Ooohhh I’m so sorry!!!” but if you have, you’d understand.  It is the most unexpected, adorable, heartbreaking, cute-to-the-max thing ever.  I love the little munchkin so much.

But uggh, my mouse.  I’m just so glad I bought that MacBook Pro last weekend.  Otherwise I would have had to go to the library to write this post.  The LIBRARY!  (;
