WEDDING DECOR ❦ Mini Lustre Vases, Ice White Lights, Writable Napkin Tags + More Little Things!

Many of us want our weddings to have some kind of fairytale-ness to them.  Some want a lot, others want a little, but I think it’s safe to say that we want to set the scene properly for a dreamy escape into our new lives of loving one another forever.  And in my opinion, that rocks.  So, when I think of setting that scene, I think details.  Details, details, details.  And more details.  Because who doesn’t love details?  As they say, it’s the little things that show that you care.  And I’m thinking you care about your wedding day.  So, what do I think of first?  Without a doubt, lighting…

Ice White LED Tree Lights

Yeah, that’s what I call a fairytale setting.

If it made sense for my home to decorate every room with a handful of these, I would.  But it doesn’t make sense to do that.  However, it DOES make sense to decorate your entire wedding with these babies.  And I insist that you do it (if you want to, that is… no pressure).

And given the trends we’ve been observing, I think I’d be remiss if I didn’t throw in a little chalkboard inspired lovin’ – form of: zinc place tags for your guests’ napkins!!!  Yes, OMG is right!!!  How much do you love these things?!  Is it as much as I do?  Because I honestly don’t know if that’s possible.

And these, well I just can’t get over how cute these would look in photos.  Not to mention how official it would make things.  If you’re thinking of a school-related theme for your big day, may I introduce you to the perfect little finishing touch?

At first I kind of pooh-poohed these mini chocolates, but they grew on me quickly and with force.  With a simple, clean palette based in white or ivory, these bite-size squares of milk chocolate wrapped in silver foil and a white outer sleeve are the ideal way to please the palates of your guests.

I’m sorry, I just think these little vase munchkins are frikin’ adorable, so I had to include them.  Aren’t they frikin’ adorable?  They’re frikin’ adorable.

This jar = phenomenal.  I am in awe of it and want ten.  This is just PERFECT if you’re looking for a brilliant way to light your intimate backyard/outdoor wedding.

My Mom adoooooores these confetti boxes.  She can stare at them for minutes and, as if she were starring in an infomercial, talk up their attributes in a way that’ll tempt you to slap down your child’s tuition money just to get your hands on them.  But I must say, they are quite spectacular.  Really, what’s better than a box full of ready-to-go ivory colored confetti cones, filled with a mixture of delicate lilac, ivory blue and pink delphinium petals?  Not much, if you ask my mother.

Hope you enjoyed these picks!  I’ve got to admit, they were super fun to pick out.  Though it was a biotch not to buy everything as I went along.  I think I may own several of those little vases before the day is through.  Seriously.

xoxo!  -Alison

By the way, if you did fancy those picks, I suggest you check out some more!

WEDDING FAVORS LOVE | colorful, lovely, fabulous favor inspiration | All Hail Rebecca Thuss

I have admired Rebecca Thuss from afar for quite a long stretch now.  When it comes to swoon-worthy, she is, in my estimation, a genius.  Upon a visit to Rebecca’s site, one finds this menu:

Now, I can speak only for myself, but you might agree with me when I say that this short, sweet list of Portfolio items is kind of paralyzing in a way, with its array of tantalizing topics, each one more enticing than the last.  Where to start?!

This frozen moment can be compared to that brief moment when your beloved has just proposed, and you are, for a second, dumbfounded, with an acute case of shock, delight and this is the biggest decision of my life but I need to make it in the shortest period of time manifesting all at once on your face.  Or maybe that’s a bit extreme of a comparison.  But whatev.  No matter, as this period of reaction is short-lived, in both cases.  What takes over – back to Rebecca Thuss now – is an unparalleled excitement coupled with a furious exploration of every nook and cranny held within those carefully and cleanly titled categories.

Listed among her many enviable capabilities are Prop & Set Styling, Wedding Design, Event Design and Crafting…

Wow.  Every one of those skills is something I think most of us would be pleased as punch to do for a living ourselves.

Little boxes, on the hillside, little boxes, filled with ticky tacky…

These two, above and below, bring back thoughts of this oldie but goodie DIY project.

Want your wedding to be floral-focused?  Then these little pink favor boxes could be the perfect finishing touch on your big day.  And, speaking of flower power, these gowns will fit that theme, not to mention your shape, expertly.

I adore the favor boxes below; they offer a fun, rustic feel, and the images affixed to the box tops – each one different from the last – are filled with warm colors and tones.  Plus, I’m lovin’ the twine and tags, of course.  Attention to detail is always admired and appreciated… and if you have the time and desire to do it, I wholeheartedly champion the effort (and I’d love to attend your wedding, as well!).

Cherries!  Little scalloped edged bags of transparent vellum, filled with (what I consider to be delicious) deep red cherries.  So simple, so pretty… it’s perfect for the quick and easy favor, but still quite upscale and dignified.

Feeling inspired?  Stay tuned for more posts about other terrific ideas and sources for making your own, or at least semi-homemade, wedding favors.  There are so many out there, it’s kind of unreal, and definitely overwhelming.  But, as always, my goal is to track down the best of the best, or invent on my own when I feel like getting crafty.

For now, here are a couple of handpicked resources where you can find yourself some of your very own perfect favor packaging supplies…

And always remember, have fun with it.  You’re throwing a huge party, and, besides getting married, the point of it is to have a grand ol’ time… so make sure you invite yourself!
