Let’s start with the morning before the wedding. I was totally prepared. The last thing I needed to do was get a mani and pedi with my girls. I went to pick up my fiance’s sister first. She hops in the car and hands me a baby sippy cup, she has one for herself as well. My mind was already mush from all of the wedding planning so I didn’t question it. I start driving to our nail appointment and take a sip from my sippy cup at a red light.

You guys, I watched the Real Housewives of New Jersey finale Sunday night and OMG, I cannot.  OMFG what was that.  Did you watch it (admit it so we can talk!)?  I didn’t know if I was supposed to be judging a pageant or jerking off to some new type of highly satisfying porn.  Is Women Annoyingly Yelling a genre of pornography?  If it isn’t then I have NFI what I ate my dinner to between 10 and 11pm.  I really think it was pornography because I was super into it while I was watching it but now that it’s over I feel ashamed/like I want to take it all back.  I’m sorry.  I’m so sorry.

Let’s shift gears and leave that back there, never to speak of it again as long as we live.  The following video went viral recently and if my heart were a caterpillar, this video reached inside of my chest tore out my still-beating heart and allowed it to blossom into a highly emotional butterfly, killing me.  So now my heart is a butterfly with PMS, WATCH OUT.   {Continue reading…}

Happy Friday evening, friends!  It is good to be back home from ma travels, and I have a double feature-ish situation thingie going on today for ya eyeballs.  The second half of this post is a killer wedding, and you’re more than welcomed to skip to that if all you want is some visual candy.  All good in the hood by me.  I’m actually psyched for you to see it, and I’m dying to know what you think of it all.  The first part of the post, however, is a personal story about what happened while I was traveling back home from Las Vegas (does that translate to ‘land of virgins’ or is it ‘many vajayjays?’  sorry… I don’t speak Spanish) to nyc this week.  I was seated next to a father and his 11-year-old son.  The boy’s father, divorced, shared unique lessons about marriage with his son; lessons I wasn’t expecting.  Of course, it had to be blogged, and today is when it’s happening.  I’m hoping to hear your thoughts and if you think I’m crazy for having the reaction I did/do.

(Quick note: when you get to the wedding part of this post, please make sure you’re in an enclosed space, like a small closet or parked car or possibly swaddled a bassinet, because this feature is going to blow your face off and I’m concerned about you losing track of your face.)

AWESOME.  I mean really?  REALLY?!  Ohhhh man, that’s awesome.  Awesome awesome awesome because I got one.  So this is PERFECT.  Man I’m, I’m just so glad you said so!  This really worked out well.  Also, I think this means we’re besties now…?  Also also, I’ll be turning in my Not Yet 100% Ridiculous membership card later.  Because all of that-ness that just went on earlier in the paragraph was just RIDIC ulous.  I’m worried though that they might not have alumni pins for when you’re out of the NY100%A club, because they probably don’t want to be associated with the people who aren’t in it anymore… seeing as we’re weird in a weird way now, instead of a cute way.  … Yeah.  Dang.

FYI, I love this wedding, and I really think you’re gonna love it, too.  For starters, it’s not the typical wedding I drop onto the internet’s face.  It’s full of peacock feathers, button bouquets, lace and button boutonnieres, galoshes and just general DIY adorableness.  What I’m excited about is that the bride is pretty hilarious, and her write-up is jam-packed with important details and advice.  It is as refreshingly informative as it is amazeballsly amazeballs.

I have news.  I now know what an earthquake feels like, since, as many of you know, one just happened along what seems to be the entire eastern seaboard, including parts of Canada.  I’ve always wondered how I’d react in an earthquake situation, and I’m proud to say that I know the answer to that now.  That is where the pride ends, though.  Here’s what I did and thought as the eaaarth. mooooooved. undah-mah-feet:
