OH, NICE TO MEET YOU, WEDDING DRESS OF MY WILDEST DREAMS. | Images by André Teixeira of Brancoprata / Jose Villa Workshop, Mexico {PART I}

↑ like WHOA.

Happy Friday afternoon-almost-weekend you guys!  I sorries; I knowww it’s late even for me :) but most of today was spent working on some projects/some upcoming news of the personal variety – that yes, of course I’m going to share with you soon – and the remaining time was weirdly spent editing shots I took at a recent Vera Wang event because I feel bad I haven’t freaking SHAAARED them with you yet, jeez, but I promise they are coming, I promise promise promise.  Ok anyway I really wanna hear your deepest, darkest thoughts on the following, so here we go…

I think I’m telling a lot of people’s stories when I say this… so tell me if you’ve experienced this, too:

JOSE VILLA WORKSHOP | Lavender & Twine brings us stunning wedding inspiration that rivals that of the Royals. OH SNAP.

Hey lovers!  After yesterday, you may be asking – how does one attempt to top a once-in-a-lifetime letterpress giveaway?  Surely this can’t be done.  And to that I’d say, uhhh, have you seen today’s shoot?  And don’t call me Shirley.  {Continue reading…}

FASHION IMPOSSIBLE | I FOUND IT! | The cutest white reception dress you ever did see. Also, parking lot weddings?

So, it’s Friday.  Which is awesome.  I love Fridays for all the usual suspect reasons; they still evoke in me a gleeful “no school for DAAAYS” internal response, physiologically speaking.  (I feel a digression coming on…) Which reminds me, I don’t know if you’ve heard, but a recent study done at some college somewhere provided a smidgen of evidence (enough to make the news) that we, as humans, might actually be able to see the future… somewhat.  {Continue reading…}

Obsessed with all of the above from my home away from home, Anthro.  I know I mention them a lot – would you like me to lay off a bit?  No?  Ok, full throttle on the Anthro it is.  …No one can say I don’t listen to my readers.

Love and Lavender has provided me with the first good reason ever (in my personal book, which is often a unique book) to have an over-sized bridal party.  The reason is in the pictures, by the way.  The awesome, awesome pictures, taken by Jamie Clayton

I mean, how much are you loving these shots?  I’m thinking they’re totally worth putting up with a gazillion panicky phone calls from your girls about hair the day of your wedding.

Caught this unique vintagy find on a visit to Ruffled and died over the cuteness factor!  The idea, straight from Ruffled: vintage paper doll clothes as escort cards for a wedding! Am I blowing your mind?  Because it blew mine.  Creativity is the greatest thing in the world.  Truly.

This next find, dubbed A Literary Garden and brought to us by the ladies of 100 Layer Cake also had me reeling.  The table number idea, executed by Megan Gray of Honey and Poppies, is so simple – and I don’t mean easy, I mean simple – but I don’t know if I ever would have come up with it on my own.  It’s definitely one of those great ideas you wish you’d thought of yourself!  Love it, Megan.  You’re a genius, literally. *snicker snicker*

Next up, some absolutely lovely wedding gowns from Neiman Marcus, which I discovered on Erin Ever After!  Apparently, most of them are below $750!!!  That’s kind of amazing… no, seriously.

And check out this save the date, made out of a FEATHER!!!  I mean, what?!  A feather?!  I found this gem over on Brancoprata, a fantastic blog run by one of my good blogger friends – not to mention one of my favorite girls in the world – Sofia!  Totally in love with her attitude and her style.  But obsessing over this, in particular:

I’m thinking we end on a tasty, completely unrelated to weddings note.  Sound good?  Well, it certainly tastes good…

Yup.  That’s called a “brookie;” it’s a brownie-cookie.  Courtesy of the oven-lovin’ maven herself, Bakerella.  My question is: how do you eat just one?  How do you NOT eat the whole pan?  Seriously, I’m asking.  (People, I’m this close to licking the screen right now.  This close.  It’s settled; I’m baking these babies up over the weekend.)

Well, that about does it for Friday’s Fabs, my lovelies!  Fingers crossed that you enjoyed them as much I did!  I hope all of you are having nice little Fridays of your own.  Mine’s shaping up to be insane in the membrane.  I think I’ll need a dip in a hot tub by the time the sun goes down.  Anyone have a hot tub they’re willing to share?  Let me know.  Have suit, will travel.  Anywho, hope your weekends are filled with joy and hand holding, if you’re into that.  Try being into it, if you’re not, by the way.  You’re talking to a happy convert.

REAL WEDDING + BOUQUET LOVE ❦ Christy and Christian ❦ Photos by Jose Villa

I have a little secret: pink, white and green make up the three colors of the first color scheme with which I ever fell in love.  I adore the look, as long as the pink is subtle, and the white/green command the space.

With today’s wedding… mission: accomplished.

Feast your eyes on the wedding of Christy and Christian, photographed by Jose Villa (aka, my photography GOD).  I am overwhelmed by the love I have for the ceremony and reception decor, but what really blew me away at first sight was the bride’s exquisite bouquet.  My attention was drawn to its full, tightly packed cabbage-like blooms pretty much immediately, and I can’t stop staring at that thing!  I haven’t seen anything quite like it.

Look, it blossomed!  I’m going to have a joy heart attack over here.

That cake is kind of my favorite thing in the world right now.  Apples lining the base of a wedding cake.  So unexpected.  But oh so divine!

E-SESSION BEAUTY ❦ kissin’ in the water ❦ Jose Villa Photography

I love Jose Villa and everything he ever does at any time with his camera.  But what makes this shoot extra special for moi is the fact that I also love rompers, 50s bathing suits AND all over wetness in my photography.  Ehhem, all over EXTERNAL wetness.  No that doesn’t make it sound any less sexual, does it.  In fact it just makes it sound MORE sexual, like, at a more sexually advanced stage.  I should probably hover, highlight and delete everything I just wrote BUT I’M NOT GON’ DO IT.

Let’s hear it for stream of consciousness, unedited blogging!  Getting otherwise verbally appropriate young women in trouble since the early 2000s.

I think I’m going to tell my Dad to stop reading this blog.

* * *

A couple more things I love, since I’m on such a roll: her attitude and his everything.  WORK. IT.

Here’s a fun fact that may or may not totally piss you off: I *thought* this was an inspiration session, because I didn’t realize two people as hot as this could actually find one another and become a real couple.  AKA live the dream.  So, just so you know, these two are really together, in real life.  (I know, right?!!  I can’t believe it either.)

By the way, I seem to see some sort of vintage camera in every single e-session I’ve seen for the past six months.  But you know what?  I don’t hate it (yet).

Ok, STOP.  How awesome is that ROMPERRRRRR!

See the rest of this romper-tastic e-sesh on Jose’s blog.

INSPIRATION BOARD LOVE | “Really Ridiculous” Wedding Eye Candy. Oh How I ♡ All of These…

During a sweet little stroll through Style Me Pretty‘s Style Circle, I found what my little brother commonly refers to as “really ridiculous.” Roughly translated from guyspeak, really ridiculous is defined as anything that is overwhelmingly beautiful and/or ornate… almost over the top, but not… just perfectly stunning to the fullest.  Ok, that’s my best adaptation of his phrase to the world of wedding inspiration.  If you haven’t deduced it yet, my brother employs the phrase in reference to women. ;)

Quick note and useful tip: all of these boards were created using Style Me Pretty’s inspiration board maker.  If you’ve never used it, I URGE you to give it a try.  Especially if you’ve got some wedding planning to do.  It’s a great tool for any bride looking to work out her color palette, or just explore her options.

And now for my finds:

Love.love.love. these shoes.  Love them.

Top 3 shoes

Like those silver stunners in the lower left, up above?  Here they are again, within a black and white wedding palette.  Not too shabby AT ALL.

It's Black and White

I adore the idea of putting all of your bridesmaids in the same exact heel… as long as that heel has its own very unique or playful style, like the polka dot pumps, below!  Such a fab way to jazz things up and have a little fun.

Black and White Affair

OBSESSED with the next three.

Owl & Pussycat

Soft & Romantic

By the way, you see that darling couple in the board above, in the middle, to the left?  Their wedding was AH.MA.ZING.  Check it out.

The little girl in me loves this board so much she wants to live in it.

Sweet Sakura

This one, too.

little button flowers

Best thing about this board: the Charlie’s Angels pose, with bouquets standing in for firearms.  Truly making peace, not war with this shot.  ;)

Young at Heart

I just really love horses.  And cowboy boots.  And stylish beverage glasses.  And this board:

Country Wedding

There’s a soft, mysterious beauty to this last board that I cannot get past.  My eyes are glued to it.

Wait, do the horses wish they were eagles?  All of them a collective eagle?  I don’t get it, but I luuuurve the rest of this board, so who cares.  (But I really don’t get that.  Anyone?  Am I just being dense?)

In other news… CANNOT WAIT to attend Wedding Salon this evening!  I’m so freakin’ excited over the eye candy and inspiration that awaits me at this fabulous event.  Gonna be insane in the membrane.

… In a very appropriate, reserved and well-mannered kind of way.

INSPIRATION BOARD LOVE ♡ Crystal’s “Summertime Fun” on Style Me Pretty!

In lust with this cheery board created by Crystal Cook, a Style Circle member on Style Me Pretty.  The balloons were what caught my eye, but I stuck around for the desserts, mini pinwheels and general Summertime appeal!  Seriously, how lovely is this?!!

The weather here in NY today is fanfreakintastic.  I made sure to take a long walk outside and oh me oh my, HOW SWEET IT IS.  Get outside if you live in the metropolitan area, or wherever else the sun is shining warm and bright.  It feels like Summer out there!!

It’s supposed to be this gorgeous out tomorrow, too, and then things are expected to come to a screeching halt by Thursday.  Which is fabulous.

Go.  Frolic or something.  It’s Summertime in April… for a second.

BLACK GOWNS WITH BIG IMPACT ❧ I {heart} romona keveza ❧ I am Woman… Watch Me Lure

So, because of the overwhelming reaction I received to a recent fashion-focused post (which was a bit surprising to me, if I’m honest), I’ve gone ahead and gathered a bevy of beautiful dresses – all of them current favorites in my book and, more importantly, all in the color of night.  I think – no, I KNOW you’re going to LOOOOOVE them.

Recognize that one?  Yep, it’s the one used in Jose Villa’s magnificent photo shoot.  Black gowns are stunning when done right.  And if you’ve been searching (all your life, like me) for that perfect little – or long – black dress, have no fear!  These days, there’s no shortage of great design out there.  Just try a few of these on for size.  They’re all from leading bridal designer, Romona Keveza, a woman who has a firm grasp of the female form… almost as firm a grasp as these gowns do.

Not sure of the style number of this one, which is sucky because it’s my fave of the bunch…

So, what do guys think?  Would you wear one of these beauties down the aisle?

Wedding AND Photographer Spotlight: Jose Villa Captures a Lavender Field of Dreams in Montecito + Other Lavish Lavender Wedding Ideas

Recently, I came across a breathtaking wedding out of Montecito, California, while searching out inspiration for my own.  A common scenario, yes.  But this wedding, it’s far from common.  I’d say it’s among the most dreamy, ethereal wedding events I’ve EVER had the pleasure of viewing.  But it’s no wonder, since the couple chose none other than the brilliant, and highly sought after, Jose Villa, of Jose Villa Photography.

playing in a field of lavender

The wedding of Alissa and Ryan achieved perfection in what seems to be every single way possible.  All of the photographs – which are available for viewing on Jose Villa’s site – reveal a setting that whispers of a simplicity, elegance and comfortable beauty throughout.  Below is a sampling of his work; I’ve included the images I found to be most inspiring with regard to their powerful color and fine composition.  But each and every shot taken on that day is magic, if you ask me.  Villa easily sets the standard for modern day wedding photography.

If I had to single out one setting out of the entire shoot, it would have to be the field of lavender.  It’s as though Alissa and Ryan are blissfully floating together amid soft purple waves.  These images are unbelievable, and make me want to be there with them.  I recommend seeking out a location similar to this one if you can; the shots Villa captured are priceless, complementing the rest of the suite in a divine way.
