I ♥ PAPERWINK | discount code | Me? I’m in lust with their return address stamps & wedding invitation collection!

Happy Monday, everyone!

How were your weekends?  Fruitful, I hope.  We actually went horseback riding (I wrote that with my lower jaw jutting out, and in a very entitled way… don’t hate me).  It was a delight.  Except for the extreme pain my tush is experiencing at this very moment.  It hurts to sit.  So much in fact that I had a bad dream last night about having to sit in one of those plastic and metal desks we had in middle school, and having to use a little seat cushion and getting mocked by my entire seventh grade class.  Good times!  So, word to the wise: unless you have enough cushion for the pushin’, be sure to put some “chicken fillets” (you know, the ones meant for your bubbies, as NJ housewife Theresa calls them – who, by the way, I’ve heard is $11 million dollars in debt which I thought was IMPOSSIBLE but apparently isn’t) in your back pockets or something.  Did you follow that sentence?  I didn’t; I think the parenthetical tangent was too lengthy.  Add some padding to your behind if you ever go riding, is what I’m saying.

ANYWAY, today, I have something that makes me happy… so I was thinking it might make you happy, too:

It’s Darcey’s 31st birthday, so she and Tara of the incredibly fun, colorful and creative paper company, Paperwink, are giving you “31% off all online orders over $31 on Monday, June 14, 2010!*” What do you have to do?  Just enter code 31 Wishes in the special offer box when you check out.  AWEsome.

I ADORE Paperwink.  They have some of the cutest things I ever did see.  Case in point, they make the raddest return address stamps in the whole entire world.  Check them out here.  I love these rubber stampers; I imagine them being the perfect unique, elegant touch on your wedding invitations, and I just KNOW the larger designs would be magnificent stamped onto your RSVP return envelopes.  Your thoughts?

In the meantime, check out my current faves:

I kind of love this invitation:

And I’m a little obsessed with this stationery, which has absolutely nada to do with weddings:

*Fine print time: “This special can not be combined with other offers and does not apply to shipping.  Promotional code must be entered at time of purchase and can not be applied to previous purchases. Promotional code is valid for 1-time use.”

Are you loving Paperwink as much as I am?  And I’m curious; would you use one of their return address stamps for your wedding correspondence?

xoxo!  -Alison

Lovely, right?  This is a pretty stunning project, a GREAT WAY to save money, and in my opinion an even better way to make your wedding yours… not to mention get loads of compliments on your unique talents.  You can stamp your monogram on a bag of cookies, or prettify a plain brown paper baggie with a flourish of your choosing.  Personally, I think it would be great fun to get a personalized rubber stamp from Pretty Pen Jen for this project.  (Below is one she made of a couple’s return address.)  I cannot WAIT to do something like this for my wedding.

Don’t have the stamps or ink?  No problem, there are SO MANY PLACES to find exactly what you need, on the internet or in stores, like Michaels craft stores, for example.  And various crafty things are on sale there all the time.

Etsy has everything you need to make your project the best project.  And by the way, I’m sure you’ve noticed I mention etsy quite a bit on here, but it’s not just because I’m obsessed; it’s also because it’s so incredibly awesome for finding and doing things like this!

For a destination wedding, stamps with international themes like this Parisian set are oh so magnificent for adding a little flare to your correspondence:

So, if you’re getting into this whole personalization-by-stamp idea, here’s my advice on how to get the best results: get yourself some Staz-On stamping ink, a quick-drying ink for stamping projects on plastic, glass, paper, wax paper, porcelain, photographs, metal, vinyl, and more.  Pretty amazing stuff.  You’ll also want the cleaning solution, for any accidents.  Everybody makes mistakes, but not everybody can afford to replace whatever it is that’s been stamped. Never fear; check it out, in action:

I love this play by play instructional by karaku on Etsy, where you’ll find many of the stamps I’ve mentioned, as well as bushels and bushels of other fantastic eye candy. The steps pictured below are all you need to get started on a project of your own.  Seriously, even though I often LOVE professionally done weddings and super pricey decor, when I see stuff like this, I just can’t imagine spending bucketloads of dough for something I can make for pennies!!!

I totally encourage a project of this nature.  It’s EASY, fun and hard not to come out with something beautiful. Go forth and create, my pretties!

Oh, and don’t forget the ink!  :)
