Honey and I ate a strawberry today that was so good, like it was so sugary and scrumptious, that we couldn’t even enjoy it for a second before jumping to conclusions about the strawberry being artificially flavored or genetically engineered to taste like that.  ”Probably added sugar to it. Bastards,” said Honey.  ”NO way is this naturally how a strawb (he calls them ‘strawbs’) would taste.”  Look at how jaded we’re getting, you guys.

I shared this anecdote with you not as a cry for help, but as a message to couples everywhere: this is how hard it’s become to genuinely impress us with a thing.

The Cream Event New York + BIG ANNOUNCEMENT…

The Cream is happening right here in my neck of the woods, right where there are no woods, or, New York City.  So that idiom doesn’t apply.  But WHATEVER you are coming to this event, right?

Here’s their site to perrrruuuuuse.  As if this requires convincing.  Oh and surprise = I’mma have a table.  So I wanna meet ya FACES, and you, mine.  Warning: I’m just as effusive and weird as you think I am.  However, I’m shy at the outset.  So I seriously welcome butt slaps to ease me into a conversation.  Please though, just not too hard, the butt slaps.  Here- think “congratulations, female teammate!” butt slap intensity, and NOT “what was our safe word again!?!?!” level butt slap intensity.  If I scream and then karate chop you in the shoulder, you’ll know you’ve gone too far.

Aright, so buy your tickets here, to meet the cream of the crop in weddings… but HURRY UP, I’m not trying to push you I’m literally telling you that they’re almost sold out.  And FYI: if you miss this event, you will live to regret it.  I won’t hunt you down or anything, you’ll just one day realize that you didn’t get to party with everyone you respect in weddings (not including me, I curse and wear Bar Mitzvah t-shirts to work every day; I am not to be respected).

Post number one for today.  Spurred on by a conversation I had yesterday.  Here we go.

The countdown from 10 to 1 that I used in the title of this post is one of like three things I know about “The Hunger Games.”  Yes, I know, I KNOW.  I feel extremely outside of what’s going on in our society right now because of that fact.  Should I read The Hunger Games, like, RIGHT AWAY?  Is it THAT good?  Because I have a tendency to start books… read them for a while… and then not finish them.  I’m still wondering what happened at the end of Catcher in the Rye that would possess so many people to go out and name their children “Holden.”  Was there a dramatic twist in an epilogue I didn’t see in which it turned out to be a good thing to be Holden Caulfield?**

Update from the Editor (that’s me!)…

This post has garnered a lot of attention, as one might expect.  It’s quite a digression from what I typically post (well, save for the cuppie-cake aspect).  However, as we plan one of the most exciting and personal days of our lives, we can’t allow ourselves to ignore one very important thing.  How do we – as a couple – define our relationship?  It’s likely the most critical conversation to have with your significant other… whether or not you think you know how s/he feels.

The concept of monogamy is one that affects each and every one of us on a highly personal level, and the very thought that its traditional definition is being threatened can shake us to our cores.  Your comments on the topic have been so deeply thought out and so incredibly serious that I decided to give this post another day of life above the fold.  Let’s keep the conversation going…
