I ♥ PAPERWINK | discount code | Me? I’m in lust with their return address stamps & wedding invitation collection!

Happy Monday, everyone!

How were your weekends?  Fruitful, I hope.  We actually went horseback riding (I wrote that with my lower jaw jutting out, and in a very entitled way… don’t hate me).  It was a delight.  Except for the extreme pain my tush is experiencing at this very moment.  It hurts to sit.  So much in fact that I had a bad dream last night about having to sit in one of those plastic and metal desks we had in middle school, and having to use a little seat cushion and getting mocked by my entire seventh grade class.  Good times!  So, word to the wise: unless you have enough cushion for the pushin’, be sure to put some “chicken fillets” (you know, the ones meant for your bubbies, as NJ housewife Theresa calls them – who, by the way, I’ve heard is $11 million dollars in debt which I thought was IMPOSSIBLE but apparently isn’t) in your back pockets or something.  Did you follow that sentence?  I didn’t; I think the parenthetical tangent was too lengthy.  Add some padding to your behind if you ever go riding, is what I’m saying.

ANYWAY, today, I have something that makes me happy… so I was thinking it might make you happy, too:

It’s Darcey’s 31st birthday, so she and Tara of the incredibly fun, colorful and creative paper company, Paperwink, are giving you “31% off all online orders over $31 on Monday, June 14, 2010!*” What do you have to do?  Just enter code 31 Wishes in the special offer box when you check out.  AWEsome.

I ADORE Paperwink.  They have some of the cutest things I ever did see.  Case in point, they make the raddest return address stamps in the whole entire world.  Check them out here.  I love these rubber stampers; I imagine them being the perfect unique, elegant touch on your wedding invitations, and I just KNOW the larger designs would be magnificent stamped onto your RSVP return envelopes.  Your thoughts?

In the meantime, check out my current faves:

I kind of love this invitation:

And I’m a little obsessed with this stationery, which has absolutely nada to do with weddings:

*Fine print time: “This special can not be combined with other offers and does not apply to shipping.  Promotional code must be entered at time of purchase and can not be applied to previous purchases. Promotional code is valid for 1-time use.”

Are you loving Paperwink as much as I am?  And I’m curious; would you use one of their return address stamps for your wedding correspondence?

xoxo!  -Alison

BEAUTIFUL POSTAGE | Color- and Theme-Coordinated Stamps for Your Wedding Invitations!

When it comes to your wedding invitations, do you get excited when you think about choosing just the right stamp to complement the suite?  If you said yes, then we’re probably quite alike, because I LOVE THIS PART.  It’s SO meaningless – I mean, SO – but, for some reason, it’s super important to me that the stamp fits the aesthetic.  Think about it; you put all that effort into creating the perfect invitation suite for your wedding.  And while our nation’s flag is quite beautiful, does it really do your blind embossed, foil stamped, lavender, blue and deep purple 110 lb. card stock recycled wedding invitations justice?

I think not.  No disrespect, of course, to the flag.  When it comes to bill paying, it’s my go-to.

Now, as far as your invitations are concerned, here are some of my picks for that oh-so-perfect finishing touch…

Beginning with the girlie ones. :)

Okay, with those out of the way (lying- I love them), things are about to get interesting…

Here’s a suggestion: slap Greta Garbo on those envelopes if you want to make your mail truly first class.

Do you and your mate share a love of Little Shop of Horrors?  Or maybe you just really like carnivorous plants?  Well, either way, there’s a stamp for that.

You wouldn’t happen to be getting married on May 5, now would you?

Ballet enthusiast?  These are exquisite…

Laid-back wedding?  LOOOOVE the muppets?  A playful postage solution:

This is just cool.  A correlating wedding theme doesn’t readily come to mind, I just like James Dean.

LOVE the bold colors in this Sugar Ray Robinson stamp.  They really pack a punch!  BAHAHAHA I crack myself up.

Speaking of… are you a funny girl?  Wanna take it too far?  Here’s your stamp:

Believe it or not, it isn’t all that difficult to get exactly what you want… yes, even if what you want was discontinued long ago.  I found ALL of the above over at Champion Stamp Co., and there’s plenty more where that came from.  Of course, since most of them aren’t current, it means you’ll need to pair them up with varying amounts of additional postage.  No biggie; you can get what you need here.

Want to read a few more posts on postage?  Well here, here and here you go.  :)

Ooh, and here’s MY stamp!

The Hostess With the Postage

If you’re anything like me, you’re constantly looking for perfect ways to embed your personalities and the special little details of your relationship (that “stuff” that adds up to make the two of you so freakin’ adorable and/or awesome!)  into the important moments and design points of your wedding.  Well, if you consider yourself the kind of bride who (a) would rather stay true to herself than adhere to any debilitating standard, and (b) has an undying passion for all things “The Simpsons”… well then LOOK NO FURTHER!

Still here?  Ok, so it looks like you could be into it…

… Now, if you’re still reading, then one of two things is going on here: you  L O V E  this idea, it’s that one perfect detail for which you’ve been searching, or… you just need a little eye candy to distract you from your work today.  Well, don’t we ALL!  If you’re the latter, then you might want to check out THIS colorific category – go ahead, I think this is what you’re craving.  It’s a wonderland of imagery that’ll make your brain all happy and peaceful.  (Well, it makes my brain feel that way, and I’m sensing you and I are at least a little alike.)

However, if you’re the former… and you feel that these stamps were practically made for you (just take a look again, to be sure, because it would be quite a unique move here, my friend)…

No, wait… I should show you this one:

Yeah, so that’s the most extreme image of this line.

If Homer didn’t make you flinch, then these specialty stamps may be just perfect for you and your hubby-to-be.  Sorry, I hope I wasn’t insulting you; I just always want to make sure that you lovely brides are happy with your choices… and that drive to make sure gets waaaay stronger when we’re considering something like cartoon character postage!!!  My ultimate goal is for you to be pleased as punch that you chose what you did… 30 years down the road.

Where to buy: the USPS online store

These stamps I can get behind, with some coaxing.  Just promise me one thing…

You won’t use matching envelopes.
